I have some friends that mostly stay in the room playing games and online. They're not fat and also quite thin. When asking em to play some sport, they'll be lazy, but they do play once or twice in 2 weeks.

Surprisingly..... They play futsal very well compare to those who play often.

And as for gymming thing... I've ask "wanna go gym?" and they reply " I dont wanna be like Arnold". PLs help them, they believe that by carry 5 kg dumbell can make them arnold which is damn imppposible.

Anyone want to share their story of non-exercising frens?

I leave them alone actually. It's hard to convince stupid people to work out.

i would not call them stupid people just because they dont want to go
to the gym. i respect their decision.

dont get me wrong, they are FIT. really and suprisingly.
they dont enjoy going to the gym but they enjoy other activities
like badminton and futsal....

the best bet for them to go to the gym would be 1month max.
its because they enjoy what they are doing and see no point in
going to the gym. its like asking a pro basketball player to quit the sport
and play pro soccer.

what i realized is that gym workout could get bored and other
activities would very well be benefitial, even though you are
a bodybuilder.

I never go to gym, and I have a fit body, no obess, but not like arnold. Just jogging and swimming once a while, eat drink sleep control well. Why need to pay extra for gym? Excercise is essential but gym is not suitable for everyone.

darklight is calling the people who think lifting 5kg's will turn them into arnold dumb, not people who in general dont want to go to the gym, notice that he said "I leave them alone actually. It's hard to convince stupid people to work out. no where did he actually mention a gym or going to one.

Thanks. Exactly. People who think just touching weights would make them look like Arnold are stupid. In fact, i don't give a damn if people don't have a passion for bodybuilding or not. There are other sports which promote health and well being, bodybuilding is just one of them.

i know what he said. thats why i quoto his message.
and isnt it better to talk to them, tell them the truth instead of calling them dumb?
they might not want to believe but at least we tried.
still, calling them stupid is unneccessary.

my friends dont like going to the gym. the enjoy other sports. and video games. and cars.. yet they are friendly, nice people and smart and in no way stupid.

i know what you are trying to say, in a good way (darklight). i understand it. been trying to convince my friends too as well as other people that i have totally no clue as to whom they are. but you will finally realize they situation.

ps: no offence but i do realize that when ever mr darklight (or other well established health & fitness forumers) post a message, there are several forumers (you know who you are) whom will always side him. review all the other post and you will see a constant trend. i feel sorry for the other smaller forumers (like myself) whom will be bash continuously or even band by the moderator for talking back to them.

hmm.... it looks like you need to go back to primary school and learn how to read... because obviously you failed, joey-kun!!

read what i have to say and come back here and talk to me.
i guess darklight is way smarter than you, by a long shot!!.
and did i ever say malaysianpotato is supporting him?
what im saying is that i understand darklight but no need to called those people stupid.
malaysianpotato was underlying it to be and i reply by telling him that i understand.

but noo.... my joey-kun who is sooo sensitive and needs to protect his face and the forum need to come act all smart and big.

you yourself were the one being sensitive...
i guess your only friends are cyberfriends...
i guess this is the only place (cyber) where you can show off your manly-ness!!

i have friends who also think the same thing, going to the gym will make them look like arnold and they just hate the idea. but i dont call them names...

guess malaysianpotato is gonna close this thread because it is causing such a confusion.

sorry "gsdfan" for destroying your thread.

No worries bro. I understood what you were trying to say. No offense was taken at all.

Awww shucks. This good thread had to be ruined. I don't understand why. I think we're better than Cupid's Corner. No need for all this bullshit when none of the posts here at this thread were confrontational.

Hahaha.. kinda fun and unexpected how this thread turn out into.

If my memory serves my right, I've made a thread commenting bodybuilding are for cosmetic purposes. Yeap, got flamed thoroughly.

This person I know, don't go to gym but he's really strong. He's a rugby player and all of his workouts is body weight. Flying push up, butterfly push up, wide push up, narrow push up...and quite a variation of push up he did.
squat- another body weigth variation is walking squat- jalan itik

This more like those who don't go gym.

I guess everyone has diffrent needs really, some people who live an active life do not need the gym.

I have friends which are good in footie and see no reason to join the gym and/or bulk up because they see the gym as a place to get fit, and so if they're already fit they dont see a need to go to the gym.

And again, I must apologize to you gsdfan. This thread wont die yet.

Well THAT you deserved to be flamed. tongue.gif But no harm done, we all kissed and made up. LOL!!!

Well, there are people who're genetically gifted that're jut naturally strong. More fast twitch muscle fiber type, etc. I don't really know the biomechanics but they're there. Gymnasts don't lift weights but they've got one of the best physiques inthe world just doing isometrics and bodyweight exercises.

yeah... I mean, which is better.

some people can't do more than 10 push ups but go gym.

and some go gym to do push ups.

So what I'm thinking is, do we need to overcome our bodyweight first before bodybuilding. Some might think "overcome ur body weigth first" and some is " nevermind, play with those 2kg dumbells".

Because I see some guys curling 3kg dumbells in gym.. that's like quite useless.

No no. Think about this. It doesn't matter how weak we are. Everyone starts somewhere. I couldn't even do the Olympic bar itself but i still kept at it and busted my ass at the weights.
That's why i never laugh at weak people or beginners because i know how it is to start off. BUT i do laugh at those who have been given good advice and shown the ropes, yet still persist in being stupid, you get what i mean?

Anyway, i know people who can get huge and strong just doing weights dips and weighted pullups/chinups, isometrics, plyometrics, etc. Like i said, gymnasts are a good example.

Yah, true, but i think his point was, why do 3 kgs when you can do 10kgs? Why bench 20kgs when a person can bench way more than that? People who keep lifting at 60-70% of their 1rm max will never progress. There's not much stress placed on the muscles on not enough stimuli for hypertrophy. all that is developed is endurance.
