anyone know why the stock camera panorama shots always come out potato quality? like normal photo at least around 2mb but panorama 500kb only
*
CM camera is basically useless due to cropped viewfinder.
for panorama, use google camera, it has excellent stitching.

it also support many types of panorama, fisheye, wide angle etc

Hello !
New user reporting in.
Guys, any suggestion for combination of rom + kernel ?
Importantly stable n have good battery life.
Prefer kitkat.
*
What phone u use previously?

Just use stock rom la. It's very good d.
Out of the box can easily get 17 hours unplug with more than 5.5 hour Sot. Consider all day battery life for me.

Other custom rom can get more features. But battery more or less same la. Franco kernel can get more battery life. But I feel abit less smooth.

Hi.

I'd like to ask the old users a few general questions regarding the OnePlus One

is the phone still holding up good?
Yes

build wise, does it age nicely?
It's always been in my case. just took it out, still very new and clean

has the system start to slow down?
nope, it constantly performs smooth and good

did the recent legal affairs between OnePlus and Cyanogenmod had any big impact on the phone; now and possibly the near future?
Yes, most likely will not get CM roms in the future. future update seems bleak if you're counting on official firmware. other manufactures already push lollipop to their flagship, and if you dont like their skinned UI, got option to flash 3rd party aosp roms.

oneplus no longer have a official rom from CM. oneplus is currently making their own rom, how's the progress? today only release an unstable and useless alpha version. even 3rd party custom rom more features and more stable based on the comments i read

till now, do you consider the phone a worthy purchase?
yes if you're dont have the obsession for latest firmware. currently kitkat is very good on this phone

and..if I came late to the party, would you guys still recommend the phone?
yes i still think this is a good buy if you're on a budget, if budget is not an issue, go buy nexus 6 or note 4

Thank you.

Have a great day folks.

these are just my opinion. other's may vary

I have this case too. It looks not bad but I feel it's a bit bulky. Kinda hate the bulk that a case adds. So far after using neonemos bumper, ori one plus case, bugdroid case, imak and ringke. Best I would say is no case then imak then bugdroid. The only problem with the imak is that it scratches too easily. Probably will put sticker on it like one of the guys here one day when I go to KL.
*
No case is very dangerous. Accidents might happen.
I'm a very careful person but sometimes I slip up too.

Last week I eat on mamak. Talking with people and I put my phone on my lap a short while. I forgot about it and when I stand it fell hard on the floor. It bounce twice at the corners and landed face down about 2 steps away from me.

U cnt imagine the horror and shock I felt. But I pick it up and check. Cnt see any damage. The corners of the case seems unharmed. My screen is safe too cos the case protrudes at the front.

Imagine a oneplus without case and only dbrand skin. The sides confirm scratch and the screen might even crack. Diztronic cases are very well protected too. But I don't like cos too slippery.

Although this phone is cheaper than other flagship. But it's still money. Don't want it to go through unnecessary risk. Any case is better than no case.

I go for OPO because it is supposed to be stock android + cynogen (which makes stock even better).  Nexus 6 also good because pure stock android but i dont wanna look stupid holding a 6" phone. As for note 4, the touchwiz UI is a nighmare to use and also bloatware.
*
Actually touch wiz isn't that bad. Places with most notable delay is the recent app list appearing, and stock gallery that's all. It's silky smooth everywhere else. As for the bloatwares. You can disable more than half of them even without root, with root can freeze all of it. Even without disabling you can get very good battery life.

I always read many negativity about TouchWiz. But it runs really well on the note series. I wonder if those people that complain actually really used it for long term and not based on first impression.

Some of them ( incl. me ) had tried TW on legacy devices - Galaxy S, NOte 1, and had a bad impression based on it.  blush.gif
*
I seen note 1 before. Really really nightmare. If that is your only tw experience I totally understand u. That phone totally sucks. Underpowered cpu pushing 1280*800
No idea about Galaxy s. By the time I bought my first smartphone already Galaxy s2.

But go have a look at note 3 and 4. They are no longer the laggy note 1 experience. U will find it hard to convince a casual user that it's a laggy device. Only place I spot a delay is the short delay in recent app list and the stock tw gallery. Scrolling in fb, chrome and generally everything else is great. I compare my gf note 3 with oneplus. We try to scroll in apps, it's identical in smoothness.

Looking for one that is easy to use.

Any Lollipop roms based on CM12 have most of OPO's features now. Blisspop, Temazek, RR.

*
Network speed indicator is not cm feature. Exist originally in Omni rom. That's why I ask.

When we will get official lollipop support? Even s5 already received the update.
*
Typical response this kind of post will get

- go buy s5 instead
- touch wiz even on lollipop sucks
- oneplus and cm quarrel won't be getting cm12s anymore
- cm rule is don't ask for eta
- Samsung rich, hire big team so get fast ota
- Samsung cheat, pay Google to get code early so release update faster
- cm is not stock android, apparently it's more different than stock android than tw so takes longer.
- no need wait. Try xxx cm12 port. It's super super stable and daily driver material

All the above are not made up. I actually saw people post before.
In all seriousness. No one knows why. Jz wait lo...

I know. But most devs cherrypicked this feature and it's a default now.
Very smooth. No force close whatsoever. Paired with AK kernel now. Amazing standby time. Running their latest build.
*
I really wana know whether the network speed indicator available in lollipop or not. Because I have not seen even one screenshot of lollipop rom with the network indicator.

before this he says "not dropping anyone", next day cm inc blog says no updates to indian 1+
while he is posting sweet talk, at the back the company is doing the opposite

what this guy says has no credibility at all.
take it with a pinch of salt.

i'll only believe it when i see it.

I read this in google+ community
I'm not so rom flasher addict so I dun plan to try it. But very curious to see whether it works.

This guys claims that he swith roms without losing his data. Instead of doing factory reset inside twrp before flashing rom, he use his own shortcut way.

Factory reset wipes
System, data (excluding internal storage), cache and dalvic cache.

This guy only wipe
System, cache and dalvic.
Since data parties not wiped, all apps will be kept

So after flash new rom to system partition. He can just reboot. New rom with all apps from old rom. No need waste time to titanium backup restore. This guy claim no problem at all and didn't encounter any issues.

So this is half dirty flash, or half clean flash. Depending on how optimistic u are. Interested users can try
