How come need to cut open the gum to extract since it's not impacted? My dentist told me that any tooth that grows upright, is ok to be extracted without any cutting/surgery.

my case it's still semi-covered by the gum, didn't came out fully
and the food debris always got stuck in there and difficult to clean, as a result, it will get infected and swollen up few times in a year with free sickness like fevers and headaches

now it's good riddance, one down, another one more to go!

anyway... I asked the dentist to remove both at the same time, so that it's only suffer for once, rather than 2 session of suffering
but he insisted the best procedure is to take out one side only, unless it's a real emergency case

luckily I heed his advice, as I still can chew on the solid food with my other side, else I would have to go for liquid diet for the next few days

Well, i have a slanted wisdom tooth which i plan to take out last (i have 3 more to go incl. the slanted one). Gonna get the upper right one out next month. Excited coz the damn upper & lower teeth sometimes biting the inside of my cheeks....... causes ulcer if bite too hard at times.

Still remains upper wisdom tooth to extract.

can extract even if nt fully grown??perak any suggestion where to remove best and reasonable price?

SHE CHECK CHECK AND SHOWED ME THROUGH A MIRROR THAT IT'S NOT THE ONE THAT'S HURTING.

SHE ADVISE TO REMOVE THE UPPER WISDOM TOOTH THAT'S HITTING MY LOWER GUM.

SHE SAID, IF SHE DOES THAT. IT WILL ONLY COST RM50 BECAUSE IT DOESNT REQUIRE SURGERY.

SHE DID IT, AND THE PAIN WAS GONE.

SHE COULD HAVE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF THE PAIN AND STILL EARN MONEY AND HAVE MY LOWER WISDOM TOOTH SURGERY FOR RM450. (BECAUSE THE TOOTH IS STILL A BIT INSIDE THE GUMS)

Same goes to me .. I went to the malaysiasmile.com outlet at Kota Damansara .. and ended up they said its RM650 for the wisdom tooth extraction.
They ask me to go for the Xray since they said can't see much from the naked eye. I am now in dilemma of whether to proceed on with this clinic or go for other alternative ? ..

She's my favourite dentist and don't take advantage of us patients!

She even told me that i don't need to extract my wisdom tooth because it's not giving me problems and the teeth are all healthy.

It's just my choice to take it out since it's not a very useful molar!

Try go to Prime Dental at Setia Alam.

They only charge RM150 for wisdom tooth extract which is not impacted and the one that need surgery is RM450.

She's very professional too!

erm, izit RM150 for removing 1 wisdom tooth or all of them??

Of course RM150 for 1 non impacted wisdom tooth.

rm150 for non impacted tooth? that's pricey.... but rm450 for surgery is cheap....

I went to another dental clinic at Sri Rampai .. and doc said I might need to go for a minor operation which could cost me RM650 for the wisdom tooth removal ..
Sigh ..

Considering alot of the dental clinics in Klang Valley charges more than this. Furthermore my dentist is really professional, unlike some, they just do what you tell them to do without giving you any options or advises.

Agreed. Some docs will just follow what you want .. if extract then extract only. He/she won't guarantee any side effects for long term .. etc etc ..
That's why I head over to professionals for consultation ..

do you feel any pain after extraction? because they cut your gum. o.O i'm going to have it done a month later after i got my braces on tomorrow. x_x

well obviously its gonna cost some pain Dx
just like extracting the teeth for braces, but i assume much more painful? since it involves (cutting) the gums

I have 4 wisdom tooth myself and waiting on 2 to grow, my other 2 grew perfectly without any irritation or infection
i didnt have to remove them but because they are on top and at the very end its difficult to care for it, its a better option to remove ...my dentist said its possible tht the bottom ones would grow out perfectly just like the top ones but during the 1 year process i'll feel some irritation and infections

so far no infection but the pain comes once in a while >_<

i just had wisdom tooth surgery on my lower jaw(right). it hurts me to max for few days now it's slowing down.. i have to extract the upper one on the same side via cutting + normal extraction after the lower one healed. x_x

last year end , i felt very painful at the lower left wisdom tooth, but all famous clinics were full with patients so I suffered the pain by taking painkiller.

after few months, the pain was gone and now there is a big hole at the tooth and it seems getting bigger in size.

so i go for operation or let it "lost" in natural ?

I think if you want to settle it earlier .. go for the minor surgery to remove it instead of waiting for it to get worse with more decay affecting the neighboring tooth ..
