I wondering what is the best software to split/cut avi file which is a dvd-rip that I download from kazaalite.
I did used virtualdub b4 but the output not so nice. The sound not sync with the video though. Any suggestion? |

i dont know any software to split .mov any than apple iMovie i think but u can try radtools to convert .mov into avi... this kinda hassle to do. |

60 minutes of DV (assuming you're using SP, not LP) only takes ~12GB, which is roughly 5 minutes per GB. 25GB is nothing nowadays, plus it's only temporary. 
Open up TMPGEnc, close the wizard. Go to File, MPEG Tools. Go to the Merge & Cut tab. "Add" your video, then "Edit" it to cut to a specific time. Add more files if you want to merge them or just set the output. Make sure your Type dropdown box is set to the proper format. Self-explanatory. |

if its vcd format *.dat files i normally use VcdGear350 (TMpeg oso can) to convert them into mpeg files then can join all 4 mpegs using TMPeg as explained earlier by Dex, unless u want to make it smaller i.e. compress in into avi DivX then i'll use VirtualDub for more detailed explaination u can try the links posted in this thread p/s: most of the stuff i learn was from doom9.org |

Virtualdubmod can open .OGM files and export the streams. After that, use your usual cutting/editing methods.
I no longer have any ogm files, but I've done ogm to vcd before, so the extraction step is similar. Note that you will have seperate audio/video streams and you'll need to multiplex them back together. |

Avi splitter to split avi files.
MPEG splitter to split mpg\mpeg files. Not sure why, nowaday VCD cutter cannot split mpg files.Possibly too many different codecs. Other splitter can do the jobs but there is the enormous time different in the time. Eg. I forget which splitter but one took 4 HOURS and one took 40 minutes to split into 650 MB (for burning). Converting from avi to mpg\dat will lose the advantage of avi.Avi is decoded from DVD quality so you are degrading the quality. And converting takes another 3 hours. Better spend that time downloading more goodies. Danger ! When you convert to VCD , then any one can accidently watch it on a player.But when in avi,etc, you need a PC. My friend's wife accidently watch a movies she was not supposed to watch. My friend had a hard time explaining to her. |

Usually I'm using Boilsoft AVI MPEG ASF WMV Splitter and also their joiner. Easy to use but for joiner, must have same format,fps and resolution.

hmm.. just wonder anybody knows how to terbalikan the video from horizontal to vertical? Because i took a clips from my digital camera but i recorded it vertically and when i view it thru TV, it show horizontally..

uihhh...i use avi joiner, when i want to join 2 or more avi movie, (want to combine naruto 1-4 episode) the first movie status is "ok", but start from 2nd and so on sthe status is "audio differ". how i want to solve this problem?

as far as I know, if your legal software installed the patch it should run smoothly. If it doesn't you can make a quick report to the pinnacle team. They are more than willing to help via forum or email.
If you not have alot of special effects, it would be less likely to crash or hang. Cut down the transitions or insert special effects or too much audio. It would be fine. Anybody using Easy Video Splitter to CUT your *.avi files?
I'm using a registered version of Easy Video Splitter v2.01 to cut my *.avi files. It's pretty fast in cutting the *.avi files My problem is when i opened the output, the movie is "OVERTURN".. The Malaysian version of Pinnacle studio 9 plus comes with 2 disc.
One for PAL and the other is for NTSC. One price for 2. I have the same problem like joylab does. I am getting ready to buy the studio 9 plus. Price about RM579.00 American pinnacle studio 9 plus is defaulted to NTSC ( greyout) unable to change it. If you used the older version of the pinnacle. I suggest you keep it as most of the old ones you can change the different format of capture i.e. NTSC or PAL with just a click. I think the older version are 9.0 without any updates. The newer updates greyout the option of capturing it in different formats. As for splitting. IT can be done automatically. You have to reset the value of the program to capture the video every 10mb or whatever minuets/MB that you want it to be. It save you the hassel of actually doing it manually. Most software default it to every 10 sec or every new scene. Depending what software you used. |

i dun need the card coz i using digital capture. but at the same time they say that the card makes the software more stable coz of the software is dependent on the GPU on the card.  will see how.. wish i can buy the PAL without te NTSC coz i dun need it  does studio 9 plus come with mpeg2 activation? i really need that. hope it's not purchased separately  |

just a tip for u guys, if your comp go crazy sometimes, try use winASO to clean up your registry, and then run chkdsk on all your partitions. usually it works. if still cannot then try defrag (defrag occationally causes problems instead of fixing them). still cannot? reformat or ghost it.

RMVB is getting famous as a format used in movie series especially from HK, Taiwan, Japan, Korea. Even more widely use avi, wmv or mp4. But I Can't seem to find any RMVB splitter or joiner. Any expert please recommend any software to cut/ join RMVB.

I'm lookin fwd to do slideshows with audio. Thx lots guys.. Hope u all can help me.. I have a .bin file (movie) that is 770mb in size, It comes with a .cue file so I know I can burn it onto a VCD using Nero6, but the problem is, I dont want to burn it onto a 800+mb CD, coz I dont have any. So is there a way to split and burn the .bin and .cue onto 2 seperate VCDs? Like 350+mb for each CD? I can get the .dat file out of the bin by using Alcohol 120%, but when I run the dat file with windows media player, a large portion (near the end) of the movie freezes. So I'm afraid of splitting and burning the .dat file, and end up with freezes when I play it on my VCD player. Or should I just convert the .bin to .ISO and split the .ISO and burn with nero6 to two CDs? Arghhh, so confusing. |

Hello tai kos..
Im having a problem im trying to solve for a long time!!! can any one help me with my dilema.. i have a DVD of FRIENDS series..but all the series are jumbled up into a few MPEG files. Can DVD decrypter split all the series into their respective serieses?? Like series 1 is in MPEG file 1 and 2..series 2 is in part of MPEG file 2 and in MPEG file 3...can anymore tell me how to solve this?? any programmes that can do the job?? TY TY   |

You can try using Boilsoft's avi, mpeg and wmv joiner, it works fine for me everytime.

Such as i have a dvd Movie for 1 hour and I want to join another type of dvd movie that is 30 min ? Which program i should get to join 2 type of .vob file and able to play at any dvd player ? Er, do anyone has a video programme that can split or cut most of the video format. recently i've found one ( xilisoft video cutter ) its perfect but need registration code. easy video splitter only limits the video and the video cut out does not sync with the audio. need guide to download the programme, thx.

did HJSplit can split any file

err
hjsplit can split any file iirc.if u wana backup ur d9 to a single iso file, yes hjsplit can chop that, but ur file gonna chopped to 50%:50%, after the file is chopped, its not normal iso file anymore. u still have to copy 2 splitted file to hd, merge it with hjsplit to a single iso file before u can load it with deamon tools, or other iso image reading tools. |

"direct install" is impossible, if the second file is not in the same directory, its counted as corrupted file.
that will be an installer job, u better just copy all the file to harddisk instead rip it to iso file. and write ur own installer for it lol. |

Hi,
I am new to rmvb, so when I downloaded the drama in rmvb, it contain 3 files, _1_.rmvb, _2_.rmvb, and _3_.rmvb, so I think it is a split rmvb file. The question is how I can merge all these 3 files into 1? Thanks |

u can try mvktoolnix, append all rmvb and output to single mkv file.
because currently only mkvtoolnix support direct rmvb stream-copy to mkv, without re-encoding rmvb to other video formats. if muxing failed, means its saperated single rmvb. |

I think it totally depends on which file type you are dealing with. avi, Mp4 or Mpeg etc are easily modified with Avi splitter. But if you are looking for specific solution then you can google and look out for online cutter and joiners.
