QUOTE(dares @ Apr 14 2015, 07:14 PM) Update on leaking issue: same case as mine Sent the car to COSE. They say will perform shower test to confirm it is indeed the windscreen leaking. If confirmed, they will remove the windscreen and re-seal it. He assured me that it will be as good as factory seal, better than those outside windscreen workshops. I doubt it will be as good as factory, but at least I have more confidence in them than outside windscreen shops. anyways, this issue alongside other minor issues will take a week to address. I have left the car at COSE. how long did u own the car? i got mine done in few hours the resealing part though. mine is their authorized sc where i buy my car from |

QUOTE(advocado @ Apr 23 2015, 02:22 PM) Guys, just wondering between 20k-35k, anything else i should change? Doesnt sound like your multimeter got problem. mayb can check ur alternator out?I have changed the followings around 28k, now at 32k: 1.Brake Oil 2.Power Steering Oil 3.Coolant 4.Fan Belt and recently a new Battery. My Engine Oil & Filter is overdue (time period not mileage), mileage suddenly become very bad like 8.3 (should be 8.5 due to change smaller tyre), 90% tank can only go around 300km... Also i notice sometimes the car hard to start, need to turn the key for few seconds then like start like car got asthma. I checked the Battery with Engine off is 12V, start the engine & rev up to 3krpm, the idle voltage is only 10.7V, however i let it run for another 5 minutes the idle voltage becomes 14.3V & off the engine the battery is now 12.7V... is there something wrong with my multimeter or something wrong with the alternator/battery? |

QUOTE(advocado @ Apr 23 2015, 02:54 PM) only way i know is measuring the voltage, any other easy way to check? If at around 13.5-14++ volt the alternator should be working fine i think ( was told by my uncle last time) im not much of expert mayb other sifus here may help u. anyway one way to check alternator if not mistaken is to remove the battery connection after u start ur car. if the car doesnt dies after some time means ur alternator still functions( be careful though when removing ur battery connection make sure dont short circuit. anyway last time my old car one of symptom alternator failing was the squeaking sound(metal brush with metal sound).just now test: 1.Engine Off Battery 12V 2.Engine On 10.7V after 5 minutes 1.Engine On 14.3V 2.Engine Off Battery 12.7V all measured at idle. QUOTE(advocado @ Apr 23 2015, 03:06 PM) i read from an article saying: the i not sure for your 1st question.Warning: Never disconnect a battery cable while the engine is running to "test" the alternator. Doing so can cause high voltage spikes that can damage the alternator as well as other electronics. is it reliable? also when you hear squeaking sound, does the alternator still working or not? how much is a replacement unit? Persona alternator normally last how many years/mileage? that is my old car not persona. anyway when got squeaking sound still functional. just indicate that the time is near for replacement. my persona 7 weeks old only. sorry cant help you on that issue |

QUOTE(advocado @ Apr 23 2015, 03:24 PM) i can hear light squeaking noise at the engine bay but i can't tell from which part, i though small squeaks are considered normal? For me the sound I hear is like the sound brushing between two metal. Anyway I noticed that sound because previously no such sound . then one day it appear. That's how I know that it is not normal. |

QUOTE(TDUEnthusiast @ Apr 30 2015, 06:49 PM) Back door = 3 screws in total, two behind the door handle, one securing the power window console thank you. the back foor on left. i think something inside is loose or misplaced. when i drive it makes some squeaking sound. not really noticeable but i guess my ear is abit sensitive. dont feel like sending to sc for this minor things. mayb try see i can get it rectify or not Front door (Right) = 5 screws in total; 2 behind door handle, 1 securing the power window, 1 on the left and right(side of the door panel) of the door handle. Front door (Left) = Virtually the same, the order for the last two screws aforementioned is reversed. |

QUOTE(TDUEnthusiast @ Apr 30 2015, 09:54 PM) Might be a door clip that has fallen off. dont think is the clip i did open and check that. think is something got to do with the door mechanism or so. its inside the weather sheet. dont feel like im gonna peel it. guess ill live with it till the next svc or when i send for some checking Edit: Tape the sides of the door clips and their stand, otherwise you might end up with water seeping through the door clip holes on the door itself |

QUOTE(wei_hoong @ May 3 2015, 01:29 PM) Hi... Just to share some of my experience... When there is a screeching sound from the rear, it could be the hook at the rear seat. There is a hinge at both left and right of the rear seat. The hinge I am talking about is the one whereby you unlock and fold the seat forward therefore accessing the boot. It is a metallic hinge which as time goes by the friction will cause that noise especially when the car driving over uneven surface. Will check it out. Any solutions for it? Malaysia road 95% uneven EDIT: checked the hinge not the issue is the door. dont know should i send it to sc to check it or not . normally this kind issue do they mind to rectify for us? and do i need to pay if anything? its under warranty though QUOTE(aleximon @ May 3 2015, 01:41 PM) Welcome to the clubThis post has been edited by mingwei1992: May 3 2015, 05:28 PM |
