In my experience
About 80% will be sit together. Other 20% of the time, either same row but got aisle in between, or within same area and apart by 1 row or 1 seat etc. If that happens then only pay rm3 or whatever to change one seat.

Buy the tickets together in one transaction. GO EARLY TO THE COUNTER. DON'T TAK APE ATTITUDE. Be friendly to the girl/guy checking you in. Ask if it's possible that both of you be seated together. Try to mention "my wife" in that sentence as well. Usually can.

Yes and no. I think AA algorithm "side by side" is follow L-R, Front-Back order for any available seat. So if someone else checked in and chose aisle seat AA can separate you and waifu one even if same itinerary.

Haha. Like I said in my previous post. Walk up to the counter together. Just be very friendly to her/him. Smile. Ask them how's your day? Busy today? Flight going to be full or not? Then very politely ask "If it's possible, can I please be seated next to my wife?".

Most of the time can. Unless you're flying a super full flight. And always remember. BE EARLY! Trust me, a lot of people would stinge on a few bucks. So be there early, secure a seat together with ya missus.

You can check the auto-locate seat number in 'manage your booking section' before your check-in.

For my case, they separated 2 of us on my return flight to japan. (single booking), force us to choose seat... but no regret getting 'quite zone' which no one seat next to us.

Late December last year. When I web checked in, I also shocked when I saw my seat number was 1-something, which was in the first row. Thought saw wrongly. Double confirm the seat at the check-in counter and they confirmed it. Funny thing is, my family was also in the same booking. Total 4 of us, 3 was allocated in the same row near the back of the plane and mine was the first row. It was a full flight.

The air steward that served me was quite hawt, got a few free bottled water from him too

Normally i will choose window seat if travel alone d. Some passenger which board the plane early then me, not sure they know the seat number or not or pretend donno but when i reach the seat there i say "Excuse me, that is my seat" then he or she ask "Oh Sorry, can we change seat? I did angry with this kind of ppl but for flight less than an hour I'm ok to change but for more than an hour sorry cannot.

I usually choose window seat is bcox i more prefer to be the last few passenger to get off the plane. I dono why most of the ppl lik to stand up just after the plane stop then lik rushing to take the luggage on top and stand there for few mins waiting the crew to open the door. So when he or she want to change seat with me, prepare to get off the plane late unless u say "excuse me"
