I think it will be nice to power up KEF Q100

I am expecting you will face one problems that I used to face before I change to SR5010... Unreliable HDMI connectivity due to bending... Let me know if you facing it... I guess all cables really need some space...

Example: no picture every week... then every few days... then getting more freq... whenever it happen, just try to unplug and replug the cable... once too frequent, then change new HDMI cable and same thing will repeat... This problem was so irritating that finally I decided to changed into SR5010, which is the shortest amp. After that, HDMI issue solved, never repeat as having plenty of space for cables. 2 more inch is a lot of space to me.

Mine was because of HDMI cable bending... Nothing to do with the amp. Maybe I should buy some 90 degree HDMI connector to solve the problem... Last time with SR5005, I only left maybe around 1.5 inch at the back, which is bad for HDMI cable. Now with SR5010, lots of space... hahaha...

Beautiful... Just nice to drive BX1 or BX2... I think if KEF Q100 might even better if the listening distance is short.

IMO, for 8 series and above, Malaysia has no 'reasonable' price. You will have to go to Singapore or Thailand.

I have no idea on what the local distributor is thinking...

Maybe someone need to update latest Marantz stereo amp, CD players and NA prices as distributor already changed.

In my personal opinion, any CD rip should always be nothing but WAVE file. Why? It is lossless with zero compression. it mean highest quality and consistence timing as no need to do decoding as compare to FLAC. Some might complain about file size. What file size??? With today HDD, such 500MB to 650MB per disc capacity is completely nothing... The only good problem is finding new good titles...

Anyway, if SHD audio is different story and cannot use WAVE due to the file format and property nature.

You might have to re-rip as usually default WMA is lossy quality type. Thus if you reconvert those lossy WMA into WAVE, it is not as good as original CD.

Anyway, unless you remember that you did specify lossless WMA as the option.

Another easy way to tell is just put the song on Stereo Hifi... everything will be clear

SR5005 sound quality is way better than SR5010, very very obvious.
However, SR5005 has 2 weakness;
(1) The HDMI pass through do not support HDMI 2.0 aka 4k
(2) It cannot decode Dolby ATMOS nor DTS-X
(3) No fancy Internet connectivity staff..

There are solution... Buy from oversea such as SG. Avoid buying directly from Japan as our voltage is different ya.

The official way is that you need stereo amp that capable of "AV bypass". It is not PM6006. PM8005 is capable of doing that.

Unofficial way can be done pm PM6006, but dangerous and troublesome.

Pioneer LX is solely for movies... not music...

I can understand how you feel on LX and I had personally tried it on good speaker..

For stereo music, it is not something anyone can calibrate to get the good sound.

Agreed. I myself like simplicity. It mean built in DAC to simplify whatever on the rack and connection.

This is indeed what is missing on PM8005. I am no surprise if PM8006 will have a built in DAC.
