What model is your SR? Coz I thought Marantz SR series with HDAM should have good music reproduction, still cannot compare to stereo amp kah?
*
Currently using SR5010 due to cabinet design with limited depth...

Btw, not easy to have stereo music acceptable system in general. I guess stereo music mean lowest distortion possible and only do-able with purely high quality design and components. Read that few AV brands has dedicated model with music capability but no chance to hear and confirm them. While with stereo amp, affordable Marantz PM600x or 8 series already confirmed acceptable with most bookshelf speakers. And the thing I love most with Marantz stereo amp is that they hardly get warm... sign of very low electricity consumptions. And if not used for half an hour, it auto go to standby mode some more... which I did not see this feature on AV amps.

this 7000n cannot support bi-amp.

common bookshelf set need speaker stand to perform full potential.
meanwhile floorstand set are almost equal size when u factor in above situation.

what audio setup you having now, is essential to know their good+weak point.
so u able choose the next path of upgrade.
nobody able to choose for u since any speaker can get along with this amp very well. cuma not necessary get along with ur ears.

Good say. With its power, sure enough to drive most bookshelf without issue.

As ktek pointed out, personal taste matter most.

Btw, if without speaker stand, you can try for speaker spikes that stick below it. It does make the sound cleaner... However, it still depends on personal taste. Sometime cleaner sound less bass as compare to putting it directly on tables/cabinet. Of course it also depends on your music taste.

I have a pair of RX2, which I use speaker spikes. I like its cleaner sound. But do remember to adjust the spikes and make it balance among the four.

Actually, I have purchased many things from Singapore without paying any taxes. I usually drive to Sg. And M'sia customs don't really check car in detailed. So yeah, I might go there to survey as well.  biggrin.gif

For stereo amp, I think no need warranty...

Well.. If for service car, after 5 years warranty, I immediate go for 3rd party one...

While for service center not sure? Any advantage using outside one? Cheaper?

i will continue to dream about owning a marantz product, although i've owned a budget model cd46 back in the 90s
*
Marantz products are relatively affordable to mainstream. No need to dream.. Just go for it. thumbup.gif

Anyway, I suggest go for at least 6xxx series as from my past experiences, 5xxx quality is not there and should be avoided.. The 6 series performance really outperform many other brands that is more expensive. Very high value for $$$.

*
I yet to try PM8006 due to the covid19 and hardly go out. But I do own PM8005 with NA8005 and loving it to power up my KEF Q700. biggrin.gif

Yeah I totally agree that many can be biase. I myself could be biase as I like B&W quite a lot. Making a speaker to make some audio is very simple.
To make a speaker to sing is the art. Sometimes people will learn the hard way if they have to learn it that way. Can't really tell everyone this is a fact.  biggrin.gif
Enjoy your music and let the people who want to keep learning continue. For those who don't like to learn from it, that is all good too.
*
I personally found B&W sound no issue and accurate of British signature. But its prices are higher than its sound offered. Not sure if Malaysia priced them too high.

yup RX8 silver.
future i want to uprade Gold serie whistling.gif whistling.gif after sold some weeds

I think Silver series are more British signature, more B&W similar, more compatible with basically everything.

The Gold series sound are different, maybe due to the too sensitive high freq response. Imagine if you use bright amp and cables to drive it.. after an hour listening can get headache due to over Ajinomoto (too much excitement)

Monitor audio gold sound is very refine but the current new version is not that nice anymore. I do love the platinum PL300 very much
*
The Gold series sure good. But the sound signature is a little bit off standard British signature that I used to. Personal taste might be different. It is basically like judging beauties. Some people has standard definition of how standard lenglui should looks like. it is why some thing these girls are pretty and etc..

QUOTE(keithwwk @ Dec 3 2020, 12:55 PM)
This seem make sense in my setup. With bare wire on both end, sound is lot more fresher, better decay and macro/microdynamic. Music and vocal turn out more flesh and blood. Because of that I can reposition my speaker again to further optimize the sound.
*
I am having 2x system with biwiring.. with great results.. But when I tried using just one pair without biwring, I should consider myself demanding with sensitive ears, but still cannot tell the differences in sound.

I think most people are locking themselves up in home since more than a year ago... Now even the shops are closed.

yes sadly. hifi shops are usually the least crowded shop. i'm tempted by the cd6007 USB hi res and new akm dac and what hifi says it's better than cd6006 but then every 6 series is 5 stars and better than previous. it's like they are marantz cd player agent  laugh.gif
*
Anyway, with entry level budget, Marantz 6 series always the champion without any competitors (not even near). It is safe to get it without listening to it.

Hi guys, how you all doing?

Can OP add one more Marantz  NA-11S1 for me?

I recently acquired it just to use as DAC to enjoy my CD collection. It is really a good music maker. The overall improvement it bring to me is simply amazing. 🤗

Done.. impressive choice you have over there.

You guys going to KLIAV this weekend?

The biggest improvement I see on the 6007 is dac chip now same board with audio board. Previous model the dac is on digital board then jumper wire to audio board. The sound might shifted a bit due to AMK vs Cirrus.
*
Not sure if the CD player difference still matter for those having good DAC. Example like our friend, keithwwk here that own the NA11S1.

Sometime I wonder if buying a good looking BD player should give the same sound as I have the NA8005 as DAC
