Its custom keyboards, of which you order and customize it to your likings.

Most often it is the aluminium case and a decent set of keycaps which eat in a huge chunk of the cost.

I suppose Stabilizers only apply to a few keys on the keyboards such as SHIFT, Spacebar, Backspace, etc.
So, the differences should only be affected on these specific keys.
But, the differences apply to all keys on both keyboards. Thus, I guess it's not the stabilizers issue.  tongue.gif

And, I find Cherry Stabilizer better than Costar though.  tongue.gif

the only thing i can think of is, different batch and/or different QC for the blue switch.

our fellow mkb kaki jusnits has sleeved usb cable for sale at cheap price.
rm30-40.

not sure he still doing it or not.

quality is same to pexon.
*
wah..lol! thank you abang 016 notworthy.gif (look at his keyboard collection people!)
thanks for tagging!

it's true that i got make cables, but at the moment, i'm struggling to find a balance in my time.
to everyone else who might be interested,
the cable making is put on hold for now until i have time to make them, which will be updated when it happens.
part of the reason is because i've received reports that some cables (the thinner/softer cable) have durability issue.
so in future, i'm going to be doing the thicker cable only, which unfortunately, is too thick for some OEM keyboard which has cable routing at the bottom of the case.

at the same time, i'm still looking for ways to make the connection inside the usb header to be more durable (for the thin cable, because i still love my ducky shine 2 and i want a sleeved cable for it)

hmm... hmm.gif somehow i think for gaming, the correct hierarchy (if there is any) should be
skills > keyboard and mouse > hardware

a pro gamer may be using average keyboard mouse and pc, and still win others who may have the best hardware the world can offer but doesn't have the skills to match the pro gamer.

that is why razer (because it's a gaming company) emphasize so much about their peripherals or accessories that they did so much extensive research on the actuation point of their "new" switch and high DPI and accuracy of their mouse because that is the weapon of a pro gamer.
you can see some or most pro gamers carry their own keyboard and mouse but not their rig, because that's all they need. (but actually maybe leh, they trust the tournament or competition organizers to provide them with good rig or because their own rig is too heavy and not practical to bring around tongue.gif)

wait, why is there such discussion again on this thread?

I know the points you stated since ages ago.

But, I find out it's NOT really true.
Because you at least need a standard and playable PC hardware 1st, then, only count on other factors.

Try playing BF4 on super lousy machines and with super small monitor...  thumbup.gif
See how your skills can overcome the lag and extreme small can't see aiming point monitor.
*
deswai i say average, not lousy machines laugh.gif , enough to play with playable framerate on low to medium graphic settings, my bad for not pointing this out.
that's my whole point, as long as your machine is in a playable standard, the rest is the players skills and his/her immediate gears, which is the keyboard, mouse, gamepad, arcade stick or entah ada apa lagi equipment.

but at the end of the day, it's up to what interests us, some may like pc rig more than the others, some may like keyboards more, some may like audio more, some may like por...err...porsche more whistling.gif
and that is the whole reason for this thread, to discuss mainly about mechanical keyboards (topics on gaming mechanical keyboards sometimes found themselves in the grey area here or in another thread), all others are subtopic or secondary.

There is no such thing as "almost" standard layout. Standard means standard and no other ways about it.
It's the bottom row, not R1.
Because ada ruhtard keep coming here and think he so smart. Brings my blood to boil only.

Yeah. GMK and Hack'd. Still got time to join on GMK I think.
Gateron?

i am almost sure it's gateron.

btw dadudeneverabides do you know if bunny will increase shipping charges based on the amount of sets we buy from him?
i'm interested to order gmk hyperfuse too...but not yet...perhaps end of the month tongue.gif

Yes, Topre is one kind of switch only. Deal with it.  tongue.gif
And, it's mechanism is quite different compared to Cherry MX counter parts.
If not wrong, it's LINEAR like RED or BLACK but has better or smoother bounce back, and you'll need to press each key deep enough for it to register(but, it won't matter much if you're a MX Black user originally). You can say it's a REFINED version of Cherry MX Red or Black.
*
bukan lah, topre is tactile.
in fact, for some people. it actually feels like rubberdome/membrane keyboard laugh.gif
imagine paying over RM600 for a rubberdome/membrane keyboard...oh wai...

http://deskthority.net/wiki/Topre_switch
In essence, the Topre switch feels first like a refined rubber dome and second in some ways reminiscent of some mechanical-contact switches such as the Cherry MX Red and Alps SKCM Cream Damped.
The switch action is very smooth, with a tactile bump that you can feel near the top of the stroke. After the bump, the resistance is almost flat, making it difficult to avoid bottoming out. You can not feel the mid-stroke actuation point. It bottoms out distinctly with a "thock" sound.
Some Topre keys are very light, which can lead to unintended key activations; this happens especially on keyboards that have differently weighted switches for different fingers.

In short, it's like Linear(like MX Red which is linear too) with slight Tactile near end of each finishing press.
*
i've tried topre and cherry's linear before. i wouldn't say that topre and cherry red are similar sweat.gif
i really don't know why they compare it with cherry red, perhaps their way of comparing is different.

the closest cherry mx switch i can compare to a topre is cherry mx clear, which is similar to mx brown but with a more pronounce tactile bump.
but for mx clear, you'll feel the bump like midway of pressing it, and the key actuates at that point.
for topre, the bump is right at the start, and after the bump, u will bottom out and then it actuates.
