all sifus, I have accepted a job offer in Sg and will start work next month. Browsed thru the forum looking for info on riding bike in Sg but couldn't fine any. Anyone staying in Sg and ride Sg bike to work? I will probably get a 2nd hand bike to start off. What kind of $ am I looking at? Is it any safer riding bike there, as compare to KL?

-I saw your work place will be at Bedok, which is not very ideal for commuting back to JB.
-Back and forth everyday I budget daily cost of commuting to be about 6 SGD.
-Multiply by roughly 30 days, 180 SGD.
-Larkin somemore must commute to home, is an added cost which I did not consider.
-Considering that rent for a room is 500-1000, lets say taking the lowest option.
-You pay a premium of 320 SGD to stay in Singapore, after deducting transport saved.
-If you pay rent in JB, can further offset the 320 by the rent you pay in JB.
-In addition, if you don't mind sharing a room, can make the premium of staying in singapore 250 (500 divide by 2) - transport 180 = 75.
-Either way, 320 SGD and 75SGD (share room), might offer you a better argument of renting in SG for all the time spent.
-Another benefit of staying here, is where you can experience a new environment. Furthermore, it offers you many opportunities to integrate with the community whether malaysian or singaporean (like playing sports at the local community centres), which provides a lot of camaraderie and may improve your network for future employment prospects going forward.

All in all, staying in Singapore is slightly more expensive, but it offers many upsides (time and lifestyle) if the added cost does not present a big deal breaker to your other financial burdens (family and so on). 

and all the kuli like me work in Jurong. Makan at cafeteria only. Chapfan 1 fish + 1 meat + 1 vege S$2.20 . Syukur gaji s$2k/month still can cope.

i saw the sg bank usually will charge $2 if your average amount in your account less than $1000 or $500 may i know what is that and is every bank do so in sg???
