I think last few months I mentioned there's a chugging sound coming from my engine and I suspected it was my chain.

Finally found a video which sounds exactly like what I'm experiencing.

Why I suddenly bring this up again is because this morning when I started my car, there was a loud Kraaaak sound coming from the engine bay and disappeared after a few seconds.

Anyway going to get my timing chain inspected tomorrow morning and see how serious it is but I think it's already due for replacement already.

Perhaps Proton using 15w50 might be the cause? No idea but this sound has been there ever since I got the car.

last night some one fuel cut at 7k rpm 5th gear!! Damn!!! Lolz .. They ask me up the fuel cut to 7.5k...

Later want takumi style 12k rpm

i limited the ECU to run 7000 currently.
it is capable of up to 9k .. but not recommended ... calculation shows 9k is 280++

7500 should be still safe.. above that i think need to reconsider the strength of the internal parts.
7500 should be around 260. ..
7000 currently is 246 on the 1.8 gear ratios..

kasi bikin time limit...10 secs max in 9k only when under certain engine temp

too many things to worry..

valve spring can return in time ?

9000 rpm = 150 rotation per second

effectively .. one piston do all 4 stroke within 1 seconds for 75 times..

inlet valve open during intake and close during compression.. 1/4 of each cycle.. 1 / 75 / 4 = 3.3 ms ... (the valve have to return to its original position)

ELSE you will successfully married the piston to the valve ... (the engine aint cheap)


are the engine internal balanced nicely ?

4B11T unlike the previous 4G63T .. are alluminium based... and to make it better performance.. there is no balancer shaft build in.. the engine are factory tested good for 7500 rpm ... (vibration within acceptable range) .. introducing a 9k rpm .. im not sure will it self distruct .. lolz
