Well, I have just went for an interview through an agent. The customer that asking them for the job hunting is from intel,penang. They said they only can pay for the range I mentioned above. Is it reasonable?...consider I am fresh grad...not evenly got my degree result yet...keke. The job title is validation engineer. The job mainly is to test the graphic card driver. Should I go for it?

The job is a 6 months contract work. I posted this up not because I am 'money-faced' people.I just wanted to know whether is it worth for me to go for a try since the job is more related to IT field. I am a fresh graduate in E&E and is the agent find me for the interview. I don't know what to request and what to do.....feel so lost......sigh...They want me to give respond whether to accept it or reject it by tomorrow....omg...really lost... I just scared I miss the chance and will regret for it. If they don't tell me the working site is in intel, I really won't consider and headache about it now. Should I demand a little bit more like 2.1 or 2.2k for that? The money is really important for me since I have a bunch of loans to pay back.....

if i were you, i won't accept it... i might go for the interview, but i won't accept for 1.8-2k at penang... and with 6 months contract lagi!

well, i am still an undergradute, and last time my industrial practical company offer me 2.2k. it is at Sungai Petani, Kedah, a small town with low living cost, compare to penang.

as i know, intel, GE offer 2.5k for fresh gradute, 2.7k or 2.8k for first class.

but most EE field engineer offer range of 2k-3k+.
my course mate's practical company offer 3.2k even.

anyway, all depend on what job you expect for.

1. Intel is a high-stress company. The attrition (cabut) rate is one of the highest.
2. I wouldn't say the work is IT related.
3. Intel pay is more than that.

There are a few LYN members who are intel validation engineers. I can't give out the names though (I am not one BTW).
But almost everyone starts out in validation before branching out.

What kind of rank they give u? Graduate trainee? If yes, the salary at least RM2.5k-2.6k with 1 year contract.

the fact that you're through an agent, that's why they offer you 1.8K to 2K, coz they already 'makan' ur gaji a little bit. Agency always like that wan. If you apply through Intel, your salary should be 2.5K. ( payroll under Intel )
the standard start salary for fresh graduate is 2.2K for almost every company in Malaysia, excluding allowances ( if applicable )

advise is take up the interview, if you get it, take it....and go into Intel. Once in Intel, quickly look for opportunities to be converted to permanent or look for other dept. and ditch that agency.....or there's always Motorola, Agilent, Altera and so on...

Under a job agency is NEVER a good thing....

btw,i think it depends on u la..IMO,the pay is too low for an E&E engineer..u shud b able 2 get around 2.5k

future prospect i m not sure coz intel is currently slashing their number of employee

Second class upper is RM 2.5k while first class it RM 2.8k.

Dun forget Intel laying off ppl now...
That's y they probably reduce their salary range.....what I heard is Intel freeze their headcount to bring in new ppl alr....

We just hired some GTs (trainees) and AFAIK the pay has not changed.

Nowadays, no experience people with good result just can wish for high salary but experience with good result can ask for the higher salary.
From my point of view. If that job is just rm1300, i will not recommend him go for it.
But now is RM1800 for him to gain experience in INTEL factory. If the performance is good, he can apply the job directly to INTEL.

Urs one is contract basis!! The agent will take a few hundrend Ringgit from ur pay.

They give u this rate bcause u r only TARC Advanced Diploma. U should mention to the agent u are Degree Holder . IS the agent Kelly service??

No employer appreciate Advanced Diploma one, I m a TARCIAN & working now!! In MNC like Intel, a degree get a significant higher salary!!

U will get ur payslip from the agent, not fr Intel directly. Intel pay the agent, the agent pay u. Thats how it work

Yes, Intel pay from RM 2,500- 3,200 for freahgraduate but those are full time staff, not on contract. Contract will be slightly less. Heard tht Intel now only employ contract basis staff.
