I think it is merely renaming their current package of "full game with season pass" to GOTY edition (since there isn't going to be any more new expansion so the season pass labeling is no longer relevant).

Anyway, if you are like me (new comers to PS4), I recommend you to get the Dragon Age Inquistion GOTY edition which is on sales right now for merely RM56. I also played Witcher 3, almost finished but it's beginning to bore me out with the lone warrior gameplay and single class (warrior) gameplay.

Witcher 3 is like a "slimmed down" version of general RPG whilst The Dragon Age Inquistion GOTY to me is much a much "fuller" RPG, 3 classes of combat style (warrior, rogue, mage and further specializations.....), fighting party that is made up of 4 members (instead of a lone wolf like Geralt) and perhaps more main story branching with different consequences and more interesting selection of conversion options.

What's lacking in Witcher 3? Well the lack of party members means you only play one style through out the whole game, not to mention you are limited to a warrior class in Witcher 3 (also a slimmed down version of warrior class, no option to chose between dual welding or sword with shield). The lack of companions also mean there is no cheeky conversions between party members to entertain you while you wondered all alone through out huge world maps generally found in every RPG.

Graphic wise Witcher 3 truly push the console to the limit, BUT the constant cloudy/raining weather in Witcher 3 base game took most of the gorgeous graphic away and make the game look dark and lack of colors most of the time . I prefer the more colorful and bright sunny look of Dragon Age, not to mention the much better looking armors (and variety) found in Dragon Age , Witcher 3 armors sets really lacks the WOW factor and looks the same when you stick to a "single school of witcher gear" to accommodate your playstyle.

If you haven't play Dragon Age Inquisition I highly recommend you to get it first at the current awesome price (with all expansions and many add-ons). Both games are worth playing for any RPG fans, but DA is a much "fuller" RPG than Witcher 3. Last but not least we get great butt swaying animation when you play female mages character in game, in Witcher 3 we get the annoying bossy Yennifer that I wish to slap her whenever she opens her mouth.

Got myself inquisition as well, rm56 is a steal.

The price won't differ much even if you're not a PS Plus member, as the members merely get an additional 10% discount off the original promo price by EA. I guess you have to pay RM60+, still a steal for such an awesome huge game. The sales end this month end.

Hey, thanks man. I may consider getting it, though I initially chose to get Witcher instead as I am more attracted to their overall art and style compared to Dragon Age. But like you said, it's cheap now, so I might get that too. Cheers!

Oh.... The EA sales actually ends on 24 August and not month end, so better hurry to grab the offered game. Otherwise have to wait a few of months before EA have another sale
If you do buy the Dragon Age GOTY edition, remembered to download the separate premium add-on early in the game, I missed that and by the time I realized the premium starting armor and weapons were much lower spec than my existing gear Many of the add-ons and expansion should be downloaded early on and not after you finished the base game, this is because they provide some added feature and collectibles and even sub-skill!

As someone who plays both games, and played it a few time including those 2 trilogies, IMO, DA story wise went down the drain with DA2. The witcher series; it gets better from the 1st witcher games.

Sure, in the witcher, u dont have those 4 party playable character with u all the time unlike DA series, but DAI gets pretty repetitive; if u are like me, trying to achieve 100% on quest. Witcher 3 sure does have cliche quest (hunt, etc) but each quest backside story is different.

Witcher series carry forward their story from 1 and 2 to 3 better than DA series. I did not play any (if available) DLC for DAI which concludes the ending, but Witcher ends it better than DA IMO.

I've played Dragon Age Origin and also didn't play any of the sequel, instead jump directly into DA Inquisition.
I lacked motivation to finish Witcher 3 for the time being, the quest to save a young lady which "the player" has no attachment to doesn't provide enough drive to move the story to the end for me and I hated the Yennefer character

Anyway I hope Capcom would come out soon with a sequel to Dragon's Dogma More good game for RPG fans

For me, the witcher series tops the list, engaging storyline and good gameplay. DA in the middle and DD at the bottom. Quite disappointed with DAI actually. DA Origins and Awakening ending were much2 better. They got the LoTR feeling. Was expecting that with DAI ending.

Gosh, i remember playing DD, and felt so empty. sooo boring. I cant even remember what the game was all about lol.

how is fallout 4 vs witcher 3? i kinda like fallout 4 (never like open world eg GTA5 or skyrim until i played fallout 4,

I have both... played 100 hours on both.

In my opinion, it is really up to you. You either like Fallout 4 the most, or you'll end up liking the Witcher 3 the most.


I like Witcher 3 more than Fallout 4 though... the character, the plot, the story.. everything is simply amazing.
