Since note 3 been out for a year now, I didn't read about any serious reception issue for note 3. Please correct me if I'm wrong. they probably follow some of the design language on the note 3 since both signal strength is very close. I think the most importance is the actual usage.

Not sure if you know OSI 7 layer, antenna capability is related to PHY layer performance. 3G or 4G is above the PHY layer.

To put it simply, if the antenna is poor, the signal strength will be poorer (less bars on your phone). When you have less bars, the voice call quality and data rate of your data session (download, FTP, YouTube, Facebook, and etc) is affected.

An analogy would be, imagine the antenna is your ear drum. If you have very good ear drum, you can hear better. After you hear the sound, then only your brain starts to process the info. If your ear drum is bad, it's very hard to hear anything hence there's not much for the brain to process.

Slim armor or neo hybrid? My neo hybrid no such problem. Just that it is very very tight fit. With a lot of force and careful as possible, I m able to remove it.
