Finally got my MX4 - the fastest phone of 2014. Hehe..
It's been impressive so far as compared to my iphone4.
Very snappy and the screen... gorgeous!

Any good casing to recommend? Especially those with a stand so that it can be propped up to watch youtube.

May I know how to quit meizu apps running like those traditional Android phone.where we press the option button for a period and list of running apps will be shown for us to totally quit it. It's this require in mx4
*
Touch the bottom bezel anywhere other than the home button and slide up. You'll be shown with all the recent apps. Then slide their icons up to dismiss.

Useful tips and tricks for flyme on 3rd post.

Ps: I'm a new user too

Has anyone experienced heat problem with MX4 especially when using GPS? I was using Waze yesterday for like 15 minutes and then a beeping sound which I assume was some sort of warning came on. Then I went to touch the phone to turn off Waze and noticed the back of the phone was really hot.

I mean like scalding hot. I've been using it for 3 days and never experienced this kind of heat before even when gaming. The beeping continued until the phone cooled down.

Is this normal when using GPS? Pls shed some light..

Update: I've updated the flyme OS from my stock 4.0.4.1i to 4.0.4.2i yesterday morning and that appears to have improve my battery life significantly. The heat issues also reduced but I've yet to test it with my waze. Will try it out after work today.

On the OS, I've read from this forum (post #1066) that the latest version is 4.1.1.3i but my MX4 'upgrade' app said that my 4.0.4.2i is already the latest. May I know which one is the latest and any other way to update without rooting?

Otherwise, this phone has really been impressive so far. The performance and... my goodness THE FREAKIN' SCREEN! It's so gorgeous! Also, I'm really surprise by its premium built quality considering that it's 'made in China'. I've no regrets ditching my apple.

Lucky got blue cube at Subang Parade. Change the sim card already.

At the first only got 2G. Hardly 3G. Even search manual also no go. Then able to get 3G, after a while become no service. Now after restart manage to get 3G. Until when it will last, i dont know. Phew. Troublesome for Celcom user. sweat.gif

Digi serves my MX4 rather well. Good 4g line here in Subang.

I like the network speed feature. You can see if your data is running in the background.

anyone facing the issue of google's contacts sync occasionally disappeared in the phonebook and only reappear moments later?
This is happening quite frequent and when my contracts call, it will not show their name but only their hp no.

I had this problem initially. Then I used contact backup app on my old phone to backup my contact then email to MX4 in vcf format.

Download from email to ur phone.
Go to call > setting > account and contact management
Then you'll find import from disk.
Import it locally to your phone.

The camera works well in auto mode. But when I tried to play with the shutter speed in manual mode, I got the vertical shadows artifacts.

Shutter speed 1/200:

Shutter speed 1/400:

The image was fine when the shutter speed is 1/100 or slower. When I go 1/200 or quicker, the artifacts pop up. ISO auto or max also same.

Is this normal? Please advise..

is due to light, same as when you take the picture infront of LED/LCD monitor.

this happen to DSLR as well.
*
Anyway to correct this without limiting the shutter speed? I even tried using flash but still the same. From what I understand, the quicker the shutter speed, the lesser amount of will get through.

I have very limited knowledge on photography. Do I need to tweak the exposure compensation or focal length?

You may try on other environment is it still the same result, like outdoor.

if still perform the same, is time for you to send back for repair.
*
Unfortunately, it's still the same when I tried different outdoor and indoor environments. Yours is fine with shutter speed 1/200 and quicker?

Guess I'll have to send for warranty claim :-(

just tested mine mx4, no such problem. this is not normal, something wrong with ur camera...

this is NOT the same like when u taking picture of tv or computer screen. When taking pic of tv/screen, it will flicker because the screen is actually flickering at a speed that our eyes won't notice, i think is about the 60/70 hz thing.

your object is not a screen so... weird  hmm.gif

Then, it's confirmed my camera got problem. It's a pity because I like this phone so much. Now have to send for repair. Hope there'll be a 1-1 exchange.

My have the same issue, but i believe is firmware issue, not the hardware...
if is hardware, when you snap in Auto mode, it should show the same result.

anyway, i don't use manual since is just a phone, even i dun play much on my DSLR with full manual mode.  tongue.gif
*
But our photography sifu notworthy.gif Ah Hao's MX4 has no such problem.
Do you mind posting a sample photo using the 1/200 shutter speed? I just wanna really be sure before making the trip to the service center.

Turns out the vertical shadow artifacts have something to do with taking photos under fluorescent light or inadequate lighting when using quicker shutter speed.

There was no such problem when shooting under direct sunlight. The sample photos in my previous post was taken in a coffee shop during daytime though, but I suspect the coffee shop owner switched on the fluorescent lights even during daytime, hence causing the artifact.

I'm gonna experiment more with the manual mode but I think the camera is fine.
