Hi bro .. since you have used MX4 and Z3 now, can u give some insight how these 2 phones fair against each other from camera, performance and stability perspective. Also, mind to share how much u bought the used Z3. Thanks!

MX4's camera is much better. Those who claims otherwise must be die-hard Sony fanboys or work for Sony. wink.gif

Although they are using the same sensor, MX4 has full manual settings and manual focus. This unlocks a lot of potential. You can actually use it like a DSLR's Tav mode (fixed minimum shutter speed and let auto ISO does the job of exposure compensation). Heck Z3 doesn't even have macro mode whilst MX4 has micro-spur, which can really take close up macro.

Image quality wise (same ISO and shutter speed), MX4 is better as well. Sony's JPEG algorithm is really rubbish in low light. Sony has pink tint issue in dark indoor condition which is rare. But it's there. Google it up. MX4 has very good color reproduction and white balance. I like the output.

I wish MX4 has better refinement in the UI department. They try too hard to be like Apple (that's why stubbornly retains that center home button so it looks like iPhone). But Android ecology depends heavily on the Back button. That's why Meizu has to resort to gesture to trigger the back button, which is a counter-intuitive afterthought. And retina-sound? doh.gif LOL The way they coined that term says it all. The company's philosophy is to emulate Apple in Android OS.

Performance-wise, I can't comment much. I'm not really a power user (I don't play games etc) and I don't use lots of apps. But here are some observation:
- Z3 has much better bettery life. 5-6 hours of SOT is easy to achieve with 3G. This is Sony's strength.
- I never encounter any stutter when using Z3. MX4 stuttered once in a long time.
- Z3 is more stable. But then I had an early batch of MX4 (I was in the pre-order program) and didn't have it for long.
- MX4 has much louder speaker without distortion
- Both can play hi-res audio. I think they are comparable but then I'm not an audiophile.
- Z3 is much more comfortable in hand.

I bought my used Z3 ~1.3k with warranty left.

Hope this helps.

Wow.. this thread started picking up once the prices dropped.

Hehe nostalgic.

If only it has the bloody back and multitasking buttons, it's still a good backup phone. doh.gif

wah this thread still active , my mx4 duno why seating in my drawer doing nothing , touch dont work lazy to fix @@

Although you are a certified phone technician, I think at this price it's not worth to fix it already haha.

just ordered hope this phone is ok

Yes it is. For the price, it's much better than Xiaomi build quality to be honest.

I remember the LCD was quite good and sharp. The ratio was odd though. The strongest impression was the built in speaker. Although single firing, it was blardy loud and clear. doh.gif

And of course I hate the lack of back button and multitasking. Apparently Meizu thinks it's faster to use gestures vs buttons. All that just to retain the one home button look as iPhone. doh.gif

I like the one button!!!

One button to rule them all... biggrin.gif

I like the screen ratio too... it's like 5.7" type wide in a 5" high body... good for reading... too bad trend now is tall & narrow...
*
Aiyo ...Haha
Back button is Android's character, just like a Honda must have VTEC. LOL

The screen ratio is more productive but some apps have issues.

Multitask? Just swipe up from bottom screen will do.
*
Yup.
But why can't they just follow Google's guideline? How can a swipe be any faster or easier than a click? doh.gif
Similar to the back button.

On 5.1 home button act as back button when touch.

I see! I can't remember what was the version when I got mine haha.
Other than that, it's a great phone. RM299 is worth it.
