Last night I got in touch with Meizu MY regarding issues such as, ussd code, battery drains & phone heating. Below was their reply about the latter.

QUOTE
Hi Adam, yes opening system privilges is rooting, after rooting, warranty is voided. Adam, we have already tested it and using it. recent heating can be caused by the new implementation of the 4g/lte in new areas by telco which cause 3g and 4g to switch on and off, right now this is one of the major reasons. for the rest, running 8 cores on aluminium will have a little heat, is completely normal. those who complain, they are not used to it, u can try other phones including iphone.. it will still give of heat, . if u really feel that the phone indeed is really  super hot, u can come to our service center or send it to us. we will test it for you

not all usb cable can support data transfer and USB interface with PC.. especially cheap ones e.g (Daiso cables). Can only be used for charging, even so its quite slow. The best is use original cable for data transfer & charging.

after using the MXPro for a week, i feel that battery lifetime isnt that really good... anyone have the same opinion?

any reply for USSD code? it seems that most chinese phones have the USSD error . they are only made for china USSD or something as ive read from some forums. Meizu must really have a proper update for International users man. Im running mostly on 3G "priorit" but still drains quite fast. I can only imagine if you have 4G connected most of the time.

i feel this statement from them is damn cheebye. why need to compare against iphone? i would have accept the statement more if they said they know of the problem and Meizu has been informed for bug fixes in the March update.

Is it true that we can root this phone directly within settings? (with flyme account registered)

However by doing this will void warranty?

i really hope they fix the issues in the March update. The MX4 / Pro has such good hardware and specs but very poor software management and OS. I hope they can make a difference.

Yeah. Battery life is very² dissapointing. Even in power saving mode it makes no difference.

I agree 100%. I love the hardware. It's the software that undone this phone. Really hope flyme 5.0 will be miles better than current one.

Yeah. As per their reply, opening ur "system privileges" aka rooting under accounts> personal settings will void ur warranty.

Anyway, in meizufans website, one guy reports that after rooting his Pro, install xposed and a module called amplify, the battery afterwards was like "night and day", before was losing 10% per hour, after is 3%.

Wah, anyone here rooted yet? Sounds like a risk needed to take..

Just when I thought they are so cool to allow user to be able to root directly in settings.. if only they dun void warranty that will be like super awesome

What's the average Sot, is the battery problem with the Mx4 or Mx4 pro ?

I've been offered to trade with my Honor 6, if really that bad I prefer to keep the Honor 6, at least can get a day's use and 5hr+ Sot on average.

can they detect if you root it then u reset back to original ROM? SOT average usage can get about 4 hours 45mins (battery now at 4%). this also i charge about half an hour before dinner. If can get 5 hours + in a single charge is consider good d lor.
