now that's something new

TS, u should consider naming your humble loft "The Donga"

it sounds so exclusive just like The Datai at Langkawai  tongue.gif

That's how OnG builds mega 500 man camps in less than 3 weeks. Just lay the concrete base, drop the dongas onto them, do small work like wiring them up and putting up wifi so we can surf udang and tadaaa! Farkin done!

The cleaner sure complen if we do that and ban us from the camp lol.

Either way, the rooms are cleaned and the towels changed twice a week by the cleaning staff. Plus each room has one bathroom, so if you wan shoot aeroplane, can do so in privacy.

Honestly, IMO you could have opt for a wooden hut, the same size of tat container.

or bricks even.

Shouldn't cost that much, have you tried asking?
*
can can, cheap cheap buy some timber, cheapest zink sheets, plywoods..
iinm around 8k can get twice the size of the 20' cabin. can get some verandah summore

in fact 5k is all that needed of a bamboo hut in orang asli settlement.

but it would take roughly a week to construct, labour n time intensive, end result, not as robust as proper house.
come heavy wind and rain, leakage here n there. bed all wet too. comfort is literally non existence, given the malaysian harsh weather.
that asli bamboo hut? gotta improvise by whole lot then can only sleep soundly throughout the night.

oh yeah, toilet wasnt even included in here, its either separate units or out of question laugh.gif

so cabin is much better option. the main structure in sturdy, readily fabricated, mobile, can customize to ones preference, relatively much easier to be get the end product too.

Why not buy a condo.. 60K can get one, with toilet and electricity and water and everything lol smile.gif if you really want to build a cheap house it has to cost 20K max.. otherwise there's no point smile.gif

Land not free. Kontena vs bricks on a similar footprint the cost won't be much different.

Plus it should be impossible to get approval from authorities left and right. TNB will probably not approve, water also difficult and don't forget majlis perbandaran's rules on structural integrity. Impossible la bro.
*
have you called them like how i did things? where do you get such information. thy amazes me because the real fact is, theres another container house with electricity n water yes woth metres dedicated from roadside pole. impossible or improper answer/assumption?

Registering it under a temporary structure will solve some of the red tape issues but we need to remind ourselves that the purpose of this project is to create homes that people would live in as a replacement for the traditional houses that are deemed to be unaffordable these days.

As the name would imply, a temporary structure is afterall, temporary. Unless there are loopholes that allow these structures to remain indefinitely or with reasonable timeframs (5 years or so), it is hard to see anyone actually investing in these as their home.

A rental-based business model might solve this issue but again you'll have to charge below the standard rate for traditional apartments/flats and still be able to profit even with the possible relocation costs.

change your kitchen into a shelve with hidden single bed (incase got visitor sleep over) and on top of the hidden bed a table diguise as compartment which can be used as storage or table if needed
above it a shelve/ some compartment for storage

with this you save up a lot space

Boss, curious,

Alang-alang dah pecah peluh, why don't you combine two container to make it one unit instead of only one? Seems too small.

Is it due to budget factor?
*
budget yes.
i am now extending the door making it 24 feet long and on top of it i am making another storey with 8 feet high wall and roofing. making total feet to 40 feet. means i dot have to buy more when i can do cheaper and maximizing things smile.gif at first wanted to use 40feet. bow still get total of 40 even using 20 feet😁😣
