QUOTE(a_dot_el @ Nov 16 2014, 06:22 PM) Hi all, Ok. Done service for 70k km.My Almera coming to 2 complete years. Bought in 2012 Dec.' Going to do my 70K service next week. Total damage RM500. Change engine oil and atf. Now super smooth. This is 80k service schedule but i ask them to bring forward cause i prefer to change my atf every 30k instead of 40k. I ask them to change the air filter but they say no need can last another 10k km. Loving this car!! Great millage and comfort. Next is to change my tyre. |

QUOTE(arrowhead7372 @ Nov 22 2014, 04:27 PM) if u are referring to the one shown on the speedo, i believe its alittle inaccurate. Wow this very bad. I am getting at least 450km per tank. my full tank (rm80) gets me approx 320-330kms only. thats about 25sen/km and 9km/litre 10.86litres/100km I run to and fro PJ sec14 to Subang Jaya to Old Klang Road so my travel is mostly jam plus some cruising in NPE. |

QUOTE(beyond86 @ Nov 22 2014, 08:22 PM) today i drove my friend new Almera, the alignment is pulling left same with me.... Huh later batch that bad?? Luckily mine all good. No pulling, all stable.but he complaint to sc, sa said is like that...infact, the sa said all almera is like that.... same with my case also, so right now really no reason to make any complaint anymore since my sa keep saying is like that 1, factory come out like that... Or could it be the tyre problem? The Conti CC1 and CC5 that Nissan is giving is simply the worst tyre there is. Quality is not consistent at all and all is prone to problem. Mine got CC1, and out of 5 tyre (including spares) I already have 6 punctures. The same happen to my previous car, same route, using other brand no issues. The moment change to CC1, puncture here and there. |

QUOTE(arrowhead7372 @ Nov 22 2014, 05:17 PM) i also travel those roads. Your car all stock or got modification?subang jaya -> pj near jaya33 area -> subang -> assunta hospital area etc. my full tank 330kms je i usually avoid jams, like travel at 11am, and try to return before 4pm... hardly get caught in any bumper to bumper type jam, federal highway slowdown, once awhile, but i also dunno why my mileage mcm haram For engine oil I use fully syn, except during first 3 free service, 1k, 5k and 10k. They insist on giving the mineral oil, I have to argue with them to use semi Castrol Magnatec 10w30. Very lousy oil but SC don't have fully sync for 30 weight, they only have Castrol Fully Synthetic Edge 5w40. Too heavy. Now I already switch to Nissan Fully Synthetic 0w-20 (made by Idemitsu). This is the best oil for this engine so far, very quiet, free revving and no sluggishness detected even at 10K km. As for ATF, I insist on changing every 30K instead of 40K as per schedule. Other than that, everything else I follows SC recommendations. Tyre pressure is 230kpa as per recommendation. Aircond is auto, usually set between 20C and 23C. Petrol is mainly Petronas RON95 (giving me the best millage) or alternative Caltex RON95. I can't use Shell (results like yours about 350km per tank only and pickup is sluggish), the worst. Other petrol brand is in between. Never used RON97 or Vpower before. Driving style..... very subjective and irregular. No comment here. |

QUOTE(nismo87 @ Nov 21 2014, 04:07 PM) So i am not alone. It sounds ""kokkk"" when i run into pot holes. Not sure whether i need to raise my concern in SC. I have this 2 times, both time I go back SC make noise. They say tighten undercarriage Weird... undercarriage can loosen ???? After that incident so far no such noise anymore... hopefully |

QUOTE(arrowhead7372 @ Nov 22 2014, 11:38 PM) Have to check what oil they gave me. Car is at 34,000km.. i didnt ask Try other petrol brand and see. Currently on shell. Giving me consisten 320-330kms. Air cond is at 23, fan speed 2 bars only. Tire pressure always check and repump every 2 weeks. Car is stock. Yes. Driving style is subjective. There was once i super light footed, nv rev pass 3k. No diff also. Today after the service over the weekend, I did a spirited from PJ (some jam) to Cyberjaya (via MEX no jam), average 6.6L/100km. |

QUOTE(arrowhead7372 @ Nov 24 2014, 02:10 PM) Tried caltex.. managed to get 393km but went to setia alam and back so got add like 20-30km more. As with all petrol, you will need a few more tank to realise the benefits, also to help weed out the placebo effects. Now on petronas. Trying. Caltex seems to work as well as Petronas for me. So you may be on the right track to a better fuel economy. Try a couple more tank of Caltex before switching to Petronas and see how. All the best! |

QUOTE(douglas_tong @ Nov 24 2014, 02:38 PM) Agrees!!Using Caltex vs Petronas, both giving the same results in fuel economy, but I can feel engine is quieter with Caltex. I stick to Petronas due to convenience. |

QUOTE(beyond86 @ Nov 24 2014, 07:56 PM) This is a myth. Cleaning power comes from the petrol's additive and not the RON ratings. With RON97, you get fuel that can withstand higher compression before combustion, lower RON means easier to explode when compressed. You want fuel to combust when the spark plug ignites and not during compression. If your engine is able to take advantage of higher compression, then using RON97 will results in higher power and if it suits your driving style this will translate to better millage. If you think that your engine runs smoother and better on RON97, how about trying a mix between RON95 and RON97. Some users in other forum have run this with same results as using full RON97, but only mixing partial thus cheaper. |

QUOTE(arrowhead7372 @ Nov 24 2014, 09:48 PM) so far Clear the tank, and tries few Caltex full tanks, and try to do some high rev run to "cleanse" the engine. See if this improves. shell - consistently 320-330 caltex - only tried once, manage to get 393 (but i traveled more on highways, so got like 30km+- more. need to try few more rounds) petronas - only 1/4 tank tried and i can see the diff already. usually the 1/4 tank mark gets me abt 110kms+-, i am at 70km only now. Whatever you do, just stay away from Shell during this period. |

QUOTE(beyond86 @ Nov 24 2014, 10:14 PM) He seems to be getting bad FC from Shell, and now he is testing Caltex so of course stay away from Shell or else his results will be contaminated. I have tried Shell on my almari, and it gives very very bad FC, like his about 3xxkm. Never touch 400km at all!!! |

QUOTE(nismo87 @ Nov 25 2014, 08:07 AM) Me too, sometimes i wonder whehter vios/city performs better than almera. The car is not as quite as the first day. It is just 3 weeks old. Running into pot holes create knocking sound Knocking sound aside, Almera is quieter than Vios and City, and a whole lot more comfy. Get the knocking sound checked, ask to tighten the undercarriage, whatever that means. That is what the SC (Nissan PJ) told me when I complained about that and so far it never came back. |

QUOTE(douglas_tong @ Nov 25 2014, 12:11 PM) Just change my 2nd bearing (interval-ly to avoid tedious process of awaiting approval), came back with another unidentified sound. What is the symptom of faulty bearing? And what is the new unidentified sound?Plus I need to wait approximately 2 weeks for HQ to approve of fixing the problem of black oil leakage. T.T Super sad wei, barely a month and already need to standby for my 5th visit to sc. |

QUOTE(arrowhead7372 @ Nov 25 2014, 11:31 PM) Not sure about QC but Tan Chong has very bad after sales service. Heard many stories of forum and friends have to go through a lot of hassel getting warranty claim. Tan Chong prefer to repair than replace parts.Experience with Honda, they are willing to change and replace parts to keep customers happy. |

QUOTE(normal_user @ Nov 26 2014, 11:14 PM) I had the same symptoms.. each time after starting car & turn on the aircon, suddenly "KTTOOONG" noise appeared. My old Saga and Persona never had that kind of eeery sound when aircon turned on. Heck, Klang TCM Service Center won't even bother to repair, they said that the compressor is running normally. The auto climate control is not that effective on our hot sunny weather.. Haiiizzz... But the auto aircond is very good and cooling even on hot weather, I never bothered with it anyway. Did you get the aircond cleaned? Changed the air filter? Have the cooling coil cleaned? I did mine twice, if i am not wrong, since that time Tan Chong have aircond service promotion. Aircond is still very strong. |
