So got a hold of an English version of a full user+maintenance manual for a Japanese Toyota, engine 2ZR-FAE, smaller version of the 3ZR-FAE in the full spec Altis, not the outdated 2ZR-FE.

It states there, check engine oil regularly, oil loss of 1 litre per 1000km travelled is normal. Anything more, contact your dealer. AFAIK, I've never used an engine that makan oil on a NORMAL basis, but this one mmng stated plain jane. The NORM is kalau engine oil hilang 500ml after 5000km pun orang sudah busy do overhaul here and there.

What say you? Updated with screen.

You sure it's not a typo mistake ?... 1ml / 1000km and not 1L = 1000ml.

Nothing special here. My ex Peugeot 308 is eating 1L every 3000KM at less than 5 years old (120K KM)

Service interval is 10k.
4.2l per service if together with filter change. So eventually mau beli 2 bottle, one for extra+top up.

Balik mau check oil level. I understand in US they want to do a Class Action suit against Toyota sbb tidak mention this issue. Now its stated clearly in the manual.

Its under full load every time. If you drive under full load the oil will burn lesser. This is due to the cylinder not sealing properly when full power is used. Old car even worse. You can solve that by using thicker oil.

yeah... exactly... doesn't make sense for an engine to "leak" 1L of engine oil every 1000 km.
Basically if you forgot to top up, you need to buy a new engine every now and then.

Itu kira max, over that range baru need to service, less is considered normal. Hopefully my engine less than that, never encountered such a clarified reminder before. Sebelum ini, other car pun pakai saja with confidence, haha! Now, cautious cautious on certain car.

modern synthetic engine oil evaporation is very unlikely even in turbo applications.

most likely it is leaking (through piston ring/seals, then burnt off through the exhaust) due to bad seals (or in turbo case some could be evaporated while lubing the hot turbine) and/or higher clearance especially under full load/high power applications.

remember, flash points for modern full synthetics is >200 Celsius
you have bigger issues to worry about if your engine is constantly subjected to that sort of temperatures.

Unless got special sensor or marking on the dip stick... guess the only way is drain and measure

I have friend work with audi engine before and its not because its turbocharged its related with piston ring clearance.

oil consumption of 1litre/1000km is very normal, year 1987 audi 100CD's owners manual already stated that.
