QUOTE(Albert B @ Mar 6 2016, 08:17 PM) Normally Iswara weather seal & rain dispersal equipment function quite well, mine so far have no leaks (still original seals). thanks for the link.... You have to identify where the leak is. There is some discussion in this thread, starting at: https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=74173770 |

QUOTE(Albert B @ Mar 20 2016, 09:37 AM) Water in the boot is a headache to solve, requires detective work to will try that..tq...look for the water trail after rain, or to test with water from hose. And lots of patience and luck. After heavy rain, open the boot, lift up the board and look for signs of water/moisture. For LMST there are plastic covers or trim blocking access, so you may have to remove them to look for water signs. The biggest headache is the boot rubber seal, which once removed and re-installed, it will not seal properly - the water have a bad habit of getting in even when the seal looks ok. Below are from my own experience dealing with an Iswara sedan. I have no experience with troubleshooting leak in an LMST, perhaps other members here can help. Possible sources of rain-water entry: 1) bodywork have holes due to corrosion / windscreen seal leaking. (LMST have additional holes for the 3rd brake light so can also leak if not tightened properly) 2) tail-light seals have deteriorated - you can clean the dirt from the original seal and apply new sealant. Check a few days later whether the new sealant is holding. For LMST need to remove the plastic trim/covers to inspect for signs of water. 3) rubber lining/weather-seal deteriorated or have gaps in the contact with the metal. 4) capillary action of the contact surface between the rubber lining and the metal lip of the boot/trunk door. This is the troublesome thing that happens even if the seal looks ok or if you instal new seal. Try this to stop the capillary action: a) remove the rubber lining/weather-seal, b) clean the layer of dirt that is now exposed on the bodywork and apply some polish/wax, c) wash/scrub the rubber lining/weather-seal of the same, let it dry and spray some WD40 or apply grease in the groove throughout the whole length, d) instal back. |

QUOTE(Albert B @ Aug 23 2016, 08:25 PM) One possible cause may be fuel in the carburettor/manifold have dried out and have not been re-supplied quickly enough by the carburettor. (may be autochoke) U still got the manual? where to buy it?Try to pump the petrol pedal maybe 10 times before turning the key to start, see if got any difference. see page from owner's manual below. What is your spark plug gap setting? |

QUOTE(Albert B @ Sep 10 2017, 10:54 AM) There is some discussion about the headlamp relays in this thread, relays changed...still same...the said wire already done by previous owner..any idea? any idea about this diagram?see around this posting: https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=85528841 Take note the fuse for headlamps is not in the fusebox, it is some sort of glass cylinder type attached to a harness near the battery. The wiring plug can also be checked for signs of heat damage , see: https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=85471963 The terminals in this plug can be tested with a multimeter to help narrow down the fault, but I do not have the circuit that shows which terminal pins are related to the headlamps. Maybe other members here can help. Otherwise you may have to troubleshoot the stalk switch at the steering column. update===== see also https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=75108398 This post has been edited by razhar: Sep 11 2017, 04:06 PM Attached thumbnail(s) |

QUOTE(Albert B @ Sep 11 2017, 07:10 PM) To open the plastic covers under the steering wheel, you need will check for all fuses tomorrow morning...where to get 2nd stalk in klang? (In case)to open 5 screws if I remember correctly. But to remove the stalk switch you need to remove the steering wheel; its top cover is probably secured by 1 screw you can feel at the bottom side. Some photos from the net attached: =====UPDATE===== Have you checked the fuse located near the battery? |
