Hi fellow sifus
Hope I'm in the correct thread
I wanna change the bonnet dampers (the ones at the back when you open the back bonnet) for my old saga knight aka aeroback , and I'm wondering how to change it myself?
How much will it cost?
Or should i send to a acc shop or workshop to change?

Replacing spark plug cable is straight-forward: just pull out each end from their respective distributor terminals and the spark plugs, however:
1) if you remove all 4 at once you might lose track of the distributor numbering, so better label the distributor terminal to the cylinder no., or replace one at a time,
2) when pulling from the spark plug, grip the thicker end near to the plug, otherwise it may snap if you grip the thin cable.

There are no screws, just touch contacts for the high voltage flow.

Thanks buddy, will DIY next weekend after me buy them...
I just need to do it carefully or i might kill the plug cables while taking out the old ones.

Then how about the wrappings? Any idea where to do?

Hi guys...
Been a while since I'm in this thread( thread moving very fast hor)
Got a few questions wanna ask, sorry if my English bad ya

1. I'm gonna change the engine mounting and the clutch plate,
(it's slipping, when i change gears and the rpm will go up, but the speed does not match rpm indicator).

2. Does it really take 1 day to dismantle the engine and change clutch plates and mountings?

3. Should i change my tyres to 14 inch? or keep the original 13 inch?
(its stainless steel tires original Proton Saga Knight), sayang wanna change them, still looks great

4. Should I change the rear absorbers together with springs or just absorbers? Coz my rear feels bumpy when i go over potholes and uneven roads, pain too when you're driving over them.

5. Can the LMST tail lights fit my old Saga? The rear lights became aquarium adi after years of wear and tear, water will go in when it rains, hence no rear lights for the right side only, left is still working fine...

6. One last question, if i change my windscreen rubber, will the windscreen break? I asked one of the windscreen shops and they said it may or may not break, depending. If it breaks, then need to replace the windscreen about 350.

My windscreen will leak when it rains and I mean literally pouring.
There's this one time, i parked it under the tree, it was raining in the afternoon
I reached my car later in the evening only to see my passenger side carpet all flooded.
Had to rinse out all the water.

Hope I'm not bugging anyone, I'm gonna repair this bb when I get a fat bonus early November..

Thanks guys

I have not changed my clutch yet, but looking at the engine-drive-train setup
and from reading Haynes manual: just to access the clutch requires removing
the gearbox from the engine, which means removing also the right side drive
shaft, which means the wheel-suspension unit need to be opened too. The
gearbox have to be removed from under the car.

OK, thanks for the explanation buddy, now i understand why it takes at least 1 day to dismantle and change
I need to change the clutch plate, its been a long time since it's been changed, high time to change adi...

don't have a manual so skipping those:

- not much difference, might as well stay 13 unless you have specific tires you want/can get on 14"
the ideal choice is still 15" as you have much more tire options.

- just absorbers (consider KYB gas) fine, keep the springs unless the springs have sagged/soften too much then consider hunting used ones/half cut.

- not sure on the taillights, i am still using old/stock iswara aero(hatch)back tail lights.
consider repair/seal your current one, or half cut as ori brand new stanleys are expensive as hell lol

- it depends on how they change it, however the way the rubber is integrated, chances for leaking is high.
do check if your roof have rusted/cracked spots.

i experience similar flooding/leaking into cabin and despite all my efforts on the windscreen it still happens. however it only happens if the car is parked for prolonged period under the rain, and as i noticed there are rusted/bubbled up/cracked spots on the roof, those are actually the root cause of the leaking and not so much the windscreen.

- 15 inch not too heavy? Coz i've got lots of 15 inch choices if I were to change them
- need to go hunt for KYB soon at a spare shop nearby next month
- will check on the leaking part when i go change the windscreen seals

It really leaks from the windscreen part as I've tested pouring water directly onto the roof part, and it does leak from the windscreen rubber thingy and not from the roof area
My roof is fine, no leaking issues

But thanks for the heads up bro
