With oil so cheap, why aren't governments taking advantage of the price to do more stuff? For example, large infrastructure projects in the US. I guess the problem is that no one knows how long the drop will last and projects take years to complete.

Oil prices back to USD54 to USD55 range. Looks like earlier surge was due to market optimism and expectation of low US interest rates for an extended period.

Anyone seen this The Star article? Prediction of KLCI ending the year at 1930. That's like an average gain of 30 points per day over the next 7 trading days!

Yes, I'm still holding on from buying below 80 sen. But I've been holding for ages! You sold, bought back a few days ago, and then it's flying already! You couldn't possibly have known when it would be approved! That's called good timing!

I feel frustrated that boon is proven right again. Oil price now dropped to USD51.xx, yet SKPETRO is showing stability at its current price, proving his dictum that stock prices tend to move in just one direction overall when it does move. It seems that the market has decided that SKPETRO has found a bottom and is sticking to that bottom even though the oil price keeps slowly dropping.

where got...today they drop heavily 3%...Dialog group lagi teruk 4.61%...only bumi armada slows down the drop to 0.93%...itu pun bcoz yesterday they drop around 4.xx% already...all in all semua O&G counter drop...no one is spared from general economic conditions...

Haha, that was posted yesterday. Actually oil price slowly slid from around USD55 or so to USD50 but after hitting bottom and rebounding SKPETRO's price did not fall in tandem with that. But it seems that breaking USD50 is the psychological point to start a new round of selling.

Dude, they're mocking you for coming in without a clue and asking for tips while obviously not having done any homework. Have you looked at the oil price lately? Lurk more, talk less, at least for a while at the beginning. Read everything, and I mean, everything, not just the posts that reply to you. Don't be in a hurry to spend your money and buy something. It's okay to take months or even a year to lurk here and learn before you actually buy your first share. Just keep your cash in FD or something in the meantime.

It basically means that some investment fund now has a large holding in it under a nominee, right?

Actually isn't selling francs and buying euros the same thing? You sell the francs in exchange for euros. What I don't understand is who the heck is buying all those francs?!

Depressed valuation? No, in Switzerland's case, their whole problem is that too many people want to buy Swiss Francs! I get that this is because it's perceived as a safe haven, but the interest rate is now negative 0.75!

Edit: sorry, this was in reply to the spider, obviously.
