fed mtg... nothing earth shattering, expected. probably yo-yo until sep... latest forecast now is: QUOTE Separately, Fed officials maintained their forecast that the benchmark interest rate would rise to 0.625 percent this year, and lowered their projection for next year. The median estimate for 2015 implies two quarter-point increases. Next year, they expect the rate to climb to 1.625 percent, lower than a March forecast of 1.875 percent. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/201...-2015-rate-rise

yellen's comments somehow drove the usd down significantly today. so, good news - oil price up, rm up, futures up! i am still hopeful of getting a grouper tonight. greece... d-day coming. nice read, this one, if u r following the story: QUOTE Yanis Varoufakis pushes away from his desk and strides across his office overlooking Syntagma Square in the heart of Athens. Dressed entirely in black, Varoufakis looks more like a hit man in a Quentin Tarantino movie than the finance minister of Greece. On this April afternoon, the economist is spoiling for a fight. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/201...europe-s-future

QUOTE(danmooncake @ Jun 18 2015, 10:36 PM) The Greeks will be punished kau kau if they exit Euro. What will they do? Go back to drachma? Who wants to take drachma from them? Going to end up like Zimbabwe currency. i can imagine as we now watch, thousands are dumping at athens bourse, rushing to the banks to move their remaining euros out. if all fails by june 30, capital controls first, then the new drachma.

all the news this morning.... end game in sight. first capital control coming? QUOTE The European Central Bank told a meeting of euro zone finance ministers on Thursday that it was not sure if Greek banks, which have been suffering large daily deposit outflows, would be able to open on Monday, Reuters reported. ... The 2 billion euros taken out by savers between Monday and Wednesday represent about 1.5 percent of the total household and corporate deposits of 133.6 billion euros held by Greek banks as of end-April. Prior to this week, withdrawals had been running at 200-300 million euros a day. ... The ongoing crisis has prompted an outflow of deposits of about 30 billion euros ($33.84 billion) from Greek lenders between October and April, the central bank says. fallout to rest of the world probably limited, no worries.

QUOTE(yok70 @ Jun 19 2015, 10:27 PM) haha! red then. now red. which is why it's impt to buy "insurance" sometimes. late last session, i took some inverse stuff - ery and dwti - very green, my xle and oih very well protected. when the rest turn green, it's time to go erx and uwti.

QUOTE(mikehwy @ Jun 19 2015, 10:39 PM) xle nearing 76 again ... any takers? this one is hard to expect a good rebound given the long drawn oil "low price" - the service cos. can't get back to work quickly with massive capex cuts already done. at this moment, i only try to compensate losses with inverse etf's. when rebound comes, may go for uso, erx, uwti instead.
