QUOTE(quintesson @ May 16 2015, 12:15 AM) after all the reading the best bet is getting r32 type aircond? R32 is the coldest now. R410 also got non inverter. check daikin in julyi did ask some sales staff they don't really encourage to get those r410 inverter cos maintenance and repairing cost is much higher than non-inverter. other than Daikin how about others, other than China brand recommended such as Sharp? |

QUOTE(halcyon27 @ May 17 2015, 01:06 AM) To get a picture of what R32 is like, let's take a view of it here. Bear in mind the link goes back 2 years ago when supply was scanty before they (suppliers like Actrol and Heatcraft amongst others) got their act together due to the safety valve requirements. R410a is 50% R32 and 50% R125 which acts as a flame retardant. But R32 is only mildly flammable. From the link. The coldest is r32.the cheaper freon r32. |

well I got some facts need to be considered:
1. R32 is the coldest. 90% of japanese use R32 aircon. The coldness of R32 is 160 while R410A only 92. it's almost double and you can save electricity. 2. It's funny people look aircon based on brand alone. To make your aircon last long you need to consider your installer too. You need to vacuum the aircon before pre installed for 20-30 mins otherwise it's too late. Freon ODP GWP Cooling Index Flammability R22 0.05 1810 100 NO R410A 0 2090 92 NO R32 0 675 160 LOW R290 0 <3 83 HIGH This post has been edited by leonhart88: May 18 2015, 11:57 AM |

QUOTE(supersound @ May 18 2015, 12:01 PM) Cooling index means nothing basically. it saves electricity liao. like kimsim uses R410A 2HP in a 10*10 room.I can put an 1 HP air cond that uses R32 in my 22*20 living hall and then condemn it is not cold at all. Then I use a 2HP air cond that uses R410 in the same room and boast it is freaking cold. To make it clear, medium used are not important, other factors need to be considered together. Japanese use top loader because they take a bath once a day or no sweat so no need front loader? |

QUOTE(supersound @ May 18 2015, 12:07 PM) Basically the air cond we choose shall be under or over size. Both also got pros and cons. For me if you want to save electricity then choose R32 rather than inverter thingyJapanese using TL as it is more space savings, power efficient, most important safe time. Logic failed. FL is more space savings since I can put under the kitchen top. FL also can use quick wash mode. |

QUOTE(halcyon27 @ May 18 2015, 02:25 PM) Perhaps the only sensible thing is to hold off R32 purchase until cooling only models arrives which may bring down the price. Current models seems to be cooling and heating. Don't think an average consumer is willing to fork out 3-4x equivalent. R32 cheap.pipe need 0.6mm thick. |

QUOTE(kimsim @ Jun 4 2015, 10:35 PM) only turbo car high maintenance.hence, energy saving will not be required for aircon. cheap la to pay additional rm 100 for colder aircon no need energy saving.wanna energy saving try the 1/2 hp one. I will try my luck with MHI r22 non inverter. MHI got 15m airflow length. just called MHI technician and he said 1/2 hp can accommodate my master bedroom 18" * 9.1". my ceiling bedroom is 10.5 feet. just wish me luck.
