yup. i flashed the SG fw and also without factory reset. at one time my battery was draining seriously cos of the mediaserver keep running in background. i was thinking about to do the factory reset but then the next day everything return to normal. the mediaserver no longer keep running and battery life was great as before.

things that i noticed which are fixed/new:
- pressing the multitask no longer lags.
- added clear all button in multitask
- loudspeaker volume is louder
- sometimes my nav and status bar do not appear after exiting a game. now it's fixed
- options to set large or small icons and rotation in home screen
- changed the volume control when pressing the vol rocker

actually i didn't notice any glare issue in 5.0.2. so to me no big difference.

are u using the latest version of flashtool? latest one is 0.9.19.x.

also try reinstall the driver from the driver folder and restart your pc.

oh... actually i used 0.9.19.3 on my old windows xp and it flashed ok

maybe you try reinstall the driver and restart your pc. that's what i always do if i face problem flashing.

some say flashtool having issue with windows 8.1 also. not sure if that's the cause of the problem

just rooted my z1 5.1.1. the steps and method is the same as rooting 5.0.2 except you need to use the latest kingroot v4.5.2.

1. most probably battery fault. previously my battery also faulty after using it for about 1.5 years. the battery swollen and when I put my phone on flat surface, the phone doesn't stay flat. it will rock top and bottom like a see-saw. so if u have been using your z1 for quite some time, better have the battery check. i'll say most likely is your battery fault.

2. I do not have such issue. maybe u accidentally cover the mic while recording?

you'll need root and dual recovery to flash the file. if you are new to this, I suggest you go to the xda forum and read more about it before doing anything to your phone

even with lollipop, you should not have experience drastic battery drain. maybe you try to do a factory reset of your phone and see if the drain still occurring.

Just receive the latest update notification. Am using SG firmware btw.

same here. i also just notice my camera lens got some scratch. pictures not as sharp now. have to rely on my qx10 now if want to take better picture

Well, I have not see any news saying this new x series is going to replace the z series. But the x performance sure is flagship spec. I like the metal body and the included DAC. And yet the smaller screen and battery than z5 seems like a step back.
