aiyoh... the first time i got my own ball was a blue urethane maxim, 8 pounds back in the 80s. hook bowlers were rare at that time n spinners were just hitting the lanes. practically grew up in the bowling alley... hey, no complains though... they had arcade game machines at the alley back then. not asia jaya, but at penang bowl.

but somehow i never got very good at playing street fighter! rclxub.gif

i think i've bowled at daiman once. bit far la from KL.

ranvil... how do u define the best place to bowl? it depends... whether u want well maintained lanes, or entertainment lanes (midvalley with disco lights), or lots of other entertainment for ur family (like berjaya fun park, or pyramid shopping stores), or for competition play (with good computer system for collecting and analysing scores), or cheapest games, or bowling incentives (like at mines resort bowling), etc.

if u r a hook bowler, the lane conditions at pyramid, summit, ioi puchong, berjaya, endah, flamengo n ampang r ok to play. i'm not so familiar with the damansara alleys there. actually, in most places i play these days there's backend for hook bowlers. only place i konw that doesn't have is at holiday villa lanes... flat oiling for like 40 feet! ouch. and also beware of ipoh parade bowl... the first n last time i played there, there was sand on the lane (and i'm not talking about dust or specks of sand.... more like playground sand!) and i ended up bowling house ball to not damage my ball. really appalling!

for spinner n straighties, any lanes also no problem! hehe.

erm...

never played in any of KL's Lanes before, so cant comment on any.

So far the only bowling alley out of Johor that i have went to, was in Ampang Superbowl Mahkota Parade.

erm...

yup, i don't like it myself. as u said, dark n noisy. the same reason why i don't go to discos. haha. but what we don't like might be a heaven for others. not to mention the lanes r just flooded with oil. if i bowl there, i might bowl better just closing my eyes n playing house ball. SERIOUS!

Summit USJ! Haha promote summit

Rates are quite reasonable, food is cheap, flat parking rate and the movies are generally not full.

Only downside is the one out of two lifts from the parking lot often break down so it's a bit of a hassle
