guys, I own a TH-L32C58K since 2012 & I love it wub.gif
but it's quite weird - everytime when I  play 1080p games TV said it's running at 1080p (I pressed info button on the remote) - it's only 720p FFS!
is this a glitch or wat?

Using PS3, PS4, Xbox One?
Signal can be easily set to 1080p, but the console that render it may not.

So, your TV really is receiving 1080p signal, but the game itself is not.

Panasonic TV USD Media Player won't be able to recognize SRT subtitles even though both movie and subtitle files are renamed to same filename.
I tested with latest 40D400 series TV using my external HDD.

Recommend buying a cheap Bluray player or Media Player will solve these issue, of course between the 2, Bluray player is much more worth than a Media Player, as Bluray player actually are much more stable, and play ability also much higher, and pricing can be cheaper too.

Yes, fork out extra money buying these may be redundant as the TV should able to play these file and SRT stuff without issue, but standalone players playback is much better than those TV built in playback codec.

But, if you are talking on SRT stuff, my Bluray player actually can played those subtitle that is embedded into the MKV file without issue, even running on DLNA stream video from my PC.
But, I need to embed these SRT file into the MKV myself 1st before able to play correctly.
The MKV remux software also can pre-select the font type of the SRT to further solving character decoding issue, especially the UNICODE Chinese character.

These are to be expected, as 4K TV are also decrease in price, so 1080p TV for sure decrease pricing too.

No wonder why the TV shows 1080p
I'm using PS3 (hooked with HDMI) anyway

There are report saying even many games on PS4 is not render at full 1080p for full 60 frame per second fluidity.
But this shouldn't worry much, as long as the 720p rendering quality is good.
I did compare this with some video that I download with 1080p and 720p based on Bluray source, and really I can't differentiate between the two alone if not display side by side.
Of course, 1080p will be the better one, but not night and day different, just very minor fine detail added, which you have to stand very close to the TV to notice.

Meaning is.... 1080p or 720p actually doesn't matter much, as long as the quality of the source is good.

Is just like smartphone, you won't get any more updates after they stop the model. My Panasonic have no update since I got it. While my Dune even Eol some years back still got last update last year. Is better to get a reputable player.

Yeah, my friend had advised me to get a dumb HDTV instead of a smart one. This way, he said I can choose any 'smart' player available in the market. Using a Chromecast 2 and Himedia Android box (apps auto update from Google Play Store).

Anyone here knows when the DX700 will be lunched in Malaysia.

Tired looking at Pana website but no details of RRP and where to buy..

Panasonic marketing people really need to buck up as the TV has been lunched oversea for more than close to 6 months already..

I saw the 65" DX700 at Best Denki 1 Utama (RM9k+). TBM is also selling it already but no display set at their Tropicana City Mall outlet (only DX900 on display).
