QUOTE(ktek @ Jan 24 2015, 09:23 PM) all ips panels are able to perform 178/178 degree view angle. the problem is NOT all panasonic come with ips lo. why need to use the finger to swipe the screen ? haha . But , AFAIK , most of the panasonic tv use IPS panel , right ?what u can try is swipe finger in front of screen to verify it. brightness test in showroom is not very useful, factory settings are inconsistence from batch to batch. also u will notice certain panel cutting size only exclusive to ips (40 vs 42, 46 vs 47 etc..) QUOTE(g88 @ May 17 2015, 08:52 PM) my personal prefer for best colour tones would be Panasonic (maybe they adopted Pioneer's technology...2nd would be Sony...LG color seem getting better than Samsung for LED... wow , glad to hear that . I 'm a proud owner of panasonic 42 inch led tv here.. AFAIK, LG also adopt IPS panel for their tv , right ? Sony didnt use IPS panel , i'm not sure what panel did SONY use , but SONY always win at colour reproduction.... |

QUOTE(stinky @ Dec 18 2015, 11:56 PM) About 2 weeks. The service is good. The technicians are also very nice. lol , when i compare 2 ips panel tv ( pana and lg) side by side , pana win in terms of better colour repreduction.... That's why i choose pana 2 yrs ago Just that the LED panel quality is sucky. After replacing is still there. They offer me to upgrade to next model by adding $$ if not satisfied. I'm considering. |

QUOTE(chrono7 @ Jan 7 2016, 10:59 AM) Sorry if I created a confusion here. pana whioch model with 43 inch is rm1349 ? so cheap ? as far as i know , pana led tv are usually overpriced. As earlier mentioned, I have to choose between Sony 40" and Panasonic 43" due to audio digital output requirement. I chose Panasonic over Sony due to: 1) Panasonic is cheaper than Sony (RM1349 vs RM1499) 2) Spec wise Panasonic is better (Bigger screen, IPS) Note that the shop I went do not have the 40" Panasonic model shown to me. I do agree that I have not seen any 40" non-smart model with IPS panel display. |

QUOTE(IriAh_LuZ @ Jan 16 2016, 07:11 PM) I contacted Panasonic Customer Care Center via email early this week. This is the one-liner response: PANA smart tv is just a gimmick i think . Not much Apps to choose from . Unless Android Tv . lol"We noted the contents of your email. Please be informed that currently Panasonic TV does not support Netflix Application." I know what's going on in your mind. The response is so weirdly worded that if were to reply asking for clarification, it will go back and forth with no end insight. I feel like escalation to a high level is needed than corresponding to the CC person. |

QUOTE(crayzee @ Oct 25 2014, 12:16 PM) so sad that my ST50 had to go, panasonic will be replacing me with LEDTV instead since they already quit plasma business. Technician mentioned it will be AS700 replacement. I freaking love this plasma why you love plasma tv so much ?on the other hand, the technician opened the back panel and i had the chance to snap some pics. All caps used are Rubycon |

QUOTE(crayzee @ Dec 20 2014, 05:00 PM) If you guys remember my story on v4 thread the technician mentioned will replace my 50ST50 with LEDTV AS700 but somehow Panasonic managed to find panel replacement. This is my 2nd time panel replacement. i have the vertical line problem several days before the tv go dead. btw , minw is led tv . Now , i am offered to buy a new model at 1/2 price. Do u knw what caused the vertical line problem ?Original unit 1st panel batch dated August 2012 2nd panel batch August 2013 3rd replacement batch Dec 2013 My guess probably this is last and final batch. What i'm happy about - Yay still plasma not LEDTV replacement! What i'm worried about - Doubtful if the vertical line issue will appear againĀ This post has been edited by delsoo: Feb 5 2016, 10:43 PM |

QUOTE(crayzee @ Feb 5 2016, 10:50 PM) It's individual preference. For me it's because of but , plasma cant display up to full hd , right ? btw , led's colour reproduction not good ? It's better than lcd, right ?-color reproduction -deep blacks -good upscaling on lower resolution (astro SD looks ugly on LCD) -no ghosting (for fast action gaming or footballs) it has it's own cons as well but it doesn't bother me much -possible screen burn (not suitable for displaying static images like desktop, astro logos) -runs hot -higher power consumption -less sharp than lcd counterpart -obsolete (oled replaces plasma technology) Led and lcd usually do not last long. I have had 1 lcd and 1 led spoiled in the past 5 yrs. This post has been edited by delsoo: Feb 5 2016, 11:04 PM |

QUOTE(crayzee @ Feb 6 2016, 12:05 AM) Usually the higher end plasmas are full hd, the cheaper ones are usually hd. I was told that led and lcd tv gt their own backlight life , is it true ? LCDtv and LEDtv basically are using the same display technology (liquid crystals rotation to display color hues). LCD itself does not produce the lights. It's done by a backlight. The backlight of LEDtv of using LED hence the name LEDtv. LCDtv in the other hand uses CFL. Plasma and oled emits it's own light for every pixel. Nowadays most of the TVs doesn't last long. If it does last that long, then manufacturers couldn't earn already I still have 20yrs old Sony trinitron tv that is still kicking till now. This tv is damn reliable |

QUOTE(ktek @ Feb 8 2016, 05:13 AM) u said tv show vertical line, rite? means white led not spoil but that line of pixel rosak. First is the vertical line problem, then, few weeks later, the tv total blackout.....white led backlight spoil is total black out. as led panel consist of several smaller sections. the tft on each pixel (a lot), white backlight, rgb filter, polarizer, horizontal +vertical driver.... etc |
