you send money through postage? if its normal postage like clothes, items etc then no (if you post through post office/poslaju)

hi,

I am selling bubble wrap. I have no idea how to post this item. When I want to post it, it looks bulky and lightweight, I am sure those post office/courier officer will count the postage fees by using volumetric method.

Can anyone tell me which courier company have the cheapest posting fees?
FYI, I can use normal parcel service instead of express service coz all my buyer is not in urgent need of this.

Below are the picture of the bubble wrap, this is about 1 meter in height.

i heard the parcel service at the post office can send items up to 1 metre (they count by weight). or nationwide (im not sure about the name) last time they told my brother tht they only count the weight so the size doesnt matter?

i think if you want to send to sabah/sarawak, better use nationwide. its RM 12 but reaches in a day from selangor. and its not limited by the size brows.gif they count it all by weight.. its rather expensive but i trust them more than having my parcel wait in the post office and sent in 2 weeks (could be squished by then)

thanks yingjee and kaycie for guiding me^^ tongue.gif another question is for small & cheap item,is it better to use pos express??? the items will be put inside the letter box or send to doorstep or if ppl not around at home, then the postman put inside the letter box????
*
sometimes the postman will put into my letter box if its the rm 2.50 envelope since its small enough (lazy postmen). other than tht, they will ring my bell n pass to me. but then 2 weeks ago, my pos express envelope reached a house like 9 doors away.. and the person only told me 4 days later.. *siigh*

may i know the parcel postage fee from semenanjung to semenanjung and also semenanjung to sabah/sarawak?

if a post a parcel the size is 1.6m height and the heavy is around 7kg how much? also need to warp up with white paper at outside part?
or i can direct send to post office without the box?
*
not sure if this helps.. i sent a parcel weighing 3.02 kg to KK & it cost me RM 5.50. but it was by sea which takes 1-2 months to reach. by air would reach within 1 week but it would cost around RM 12-RM 14 for my parcel.

for semenanjung, i believe the first 1kg is RM2.50 and each extra kg is an additional RM 1.

i think parcel max is 1m x 1m x 1m? that's what the lady at the post office told me.. parcel does not require wrapping.. just a box but its better lah.. unless u wanna risk them dumping it cos they thought it was rubbish.

TQ very much
beside that wan ask u sum question

1) Just put the thing in the box n stick with tape? then write the address postage front of the box?
2) Normally parcel for postage in semenanjung is how many days? 3-4 days?
*
1) Yup.. And also your address under "Sender". Preferably much smaller (And in a corner) than the receiver's address so they wont get mixed up. It's the return address in case your parcel failed to deliver or something. when you go to the post office they will give you a blue form to fill in and stick on the box (they will stick for you).

2) It's around there but sometimes I receive my parcel 2 days later or in 1 week.

(at the bottom of the page)

And this is before the petrol naik harga and the 23% extra charge I think..
Next time.. Use Google.. Just enter anything like "5 kg poslaju sarawak" and you will be surprised laugh.gif

Hi to everyone here. newbie here on postage stuff.
I juz went to the post office to send a t shirt, and i have some questions, hope to get answers here.
1.the black face lady there say shirt cannot use pos express, muz use poslaju. is tat true?
2.I saw the boxes and envelopes for pos ekspres have diferent prices. if i wanna send through pos ekspres, i juz have to pay to buy the envelope? no need stamp or other charges?
3. if i send through pos ekspres, i juz put the envelope in the mail box, no need to go queue inside the post office rite?
4.DVD and CD can send?
5. small item if put in envelope like earphones, will get broken if poslaju?
*
1. pos express is sepatutnya only for documents.. so... if you really want to send by pos express, buy the envelope from the counter, take it outside/home, put your shirt inside, seal and just drop it in the pos express mail box. dont have to worry about the thickness/height limitations as they dont really care.. but do it at your own risks la laugh.gif
2. yup you only have to pay for the envelope. no extra charges.
3. yes
4. not recommended as they simply sepak the pos express envelopes sad.gif
5. get insurance (think it's provided).. n stick fragile sticker.. or you can buy those envelopes with bubble wrap for extra protection

Usually, how thwy count the price? is it by weight or by the type of poslaju we bought,,,?
*
For Poslaju & registered mail/parcel mail, it's by weight.
Postage rates :
http://www.pos.com.my/V1/main2.asp?c=/v1/P...PostageMain.htm

However, if your poslaju parcel is bigger than 30 cm, they will count by Volumetric weight (or the parcel weight if it is heavier).

Volumetric Weight = (Width x Height x Thickness) / 6000

For Pos Express, it's a standard price for each envelope or box

Hihi, newbie here.. If i want to send some books, from KL to Kajang.. what is the recommended service to use? Just the normal pos malaysia enough? And how do I pack them? Put in box/wrap? =/ Sorry that my questions are noobish, because this is my first time sending parcel etc.  icon_question.gif
*
I sent my text books before.. Using parcel mail. Bought the box from the post office as well.. It was just RM 2 / RM 2.50 for a thick cardboard box. Doesn't require wrapping. Better use box if it's alot as you wouldnt want the books to tear or anything. I remember it was RM 8.50 for a very big stack of books

Pospak boxes
30 x 20 x 11 cm : RM 2
40 x 25 x 15 cm : RM 3

Can't recall the other size >.<
