In 3 days time after pre-check.

On the Apple leather case, I got the product RED for 5S, looks like I've used for 10 years after 10days of use. The black one no such problem because it's black. And the charging section hole also almost putus, that's why they make it all open at the bottom now. The old case also very very hard to take off, hence the open bottom now I think because of complains.

The new leather cases looks shinier like got extra coating especially the black one, probably a revision to avoid the staining look of the 5s case.

Wonder if the differences from last year and this year like below for those eligible maxis users.

Last year 5S launch:
1. ROI/Pre-check
2. Received email that state I'm eligible to buy and choose model
3. Printout confirmation email with designated MAXIS centre (nearest to your address)
4. Launch day designated center open at 730am and I Q 15min and collect my allocated phone.
5. Go home at 8am with brand new iPhone.

This year 6/6+ launch (GUESS ONLY):
1. Pre-check
2. Receive email confirm eligible to buy on 31 October, signup maxis store account if haven't and save credit card details.
3. Go to online store on 31 October and choose model and make payment directly online.
4. Deliver to house on 6/7 November

On the pre-check, it is to save everyone time to check whether they are eligible or not and all the chaotic exchanges happened every time there is an iPhone launch. I have no idea how they determine the priority but the not more than 30 months total extension period is compulsory, the rest might be Maxis users first, debt free, MOC members etc.

I can see the rationale for this, every time Iphone launch all maxis centers operation are disrupted with ppl queuing, make payments, etc. this solves everything. Like last year, there will be a big sign outside all centers that no walk-in purchase available until year end. Will be longer this year I think.

If no register on the per-check then can't proceed on the pre-sale?

Last year for 5S, I did receive the email and choose the model. There was no queue at the Maxis centre at Setia City Mall.

Hopefully will receive email from them soon. Can't wait. biggrin.gif

most likely i think..if pre-check is not needed for pre-sale, then why do pre-check in the first place?

Anyone care to share your real life battery usage? For those using 6+, any signs of your phone bending or not?

Btw, if maxis only let us buy via online store meaning cannot use instalment? Really eat maggie 2 months if like that...

Any iphone 6 16gb users here care to share the available storage after getting out of the box. Just want to know whether it is enough for 16gb.

Hey everyone! Can I please ask some questions? smile.gif

1. Is 16gb iPhone 6 enough for normal usage? I don't really play games but takes lots of pics only.

2. Is it true that the Apple software alone takes half of the memory space?

Hope to hear a reply soon from you guys! Thanks. biggrin.gif

My answer based on experience of using 16gb on previous devices

1. U will be surprised on how many GB it takes to store your photos.. many times the photos is the one that took all ur space. Better get a higher cap for photos... my phone only got 1 game and i always have issues with OTA update since my cap is not enough

2. No. But OTA update would required at least 4-6gb available storage. But this easily solved by updating via iTunes.

Ohh ok. Thanks a lot for your reply!! smile.gif

This is my first time changing from Samsung to Apple.

So when I update my phone next time, if I use iTunes, will it eat up my phone 4-6gb? And how often are the updates?

Sorry for the stupid questions. First timer Apple user.

nope.. the actual update is about 900+mb, but if use OTA, they will required u to have a bout 4-5GB space available. But if use iTunes, no problem. Just download, and install.

Major OS update, once a year. IOS 7 -> 8 ->
Minor OS update, only 100-200mb.

2. So 16gb enough for pics and 1/2 games? Haha..

Enough, once full, just backup the photos to your external storage smile.gif

1. depends.. normally when apple first launch a new OS, it will have at least 2-3 minor updates to get the os stable. I would say 1 year, u expect 4-5 times of updates, although not all are major, most of it just to fix bugs

2. 16gb? depending of the size of the apps/games and the amount of photos...

1. Updates tend to happen about three times a year?

2. I don't think so, unless you transfer your pics out or only take pics during special occasions

It all depends on how much data (pictures, songs, videos, apps, games etc) you are going to bring over to the iphone 6. If you check your current iphone 5 or 5s for how much space left, it would be similar to what you have on the iphone6/ 6+ when you restore your data to the new phone.
Updates would depend on how frequent Apple needs to patch up its latesr ios. I would say with the 8, its been pretty frequent. We are on 3rd update since ios 8 was introduced.
