QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Nov 2 2014, 02:32 AM) personally, I'd skip those (or proton SP3), consider going with Caltex ATF J (semi syn rm39/l, unless you can find old stock/old station at 36/l) ohya quaz, can teach how to see the ATF oil spec which one is the right one for which vehicle ? i only know proton SP3 and Dexron3 lolor better yet Motul ATF 1A (full syn, ~rm50/l) |

![]() went to Hanif Auto Services Pinggiran Subang to check why the hell our waja fuel consumption around 5~7km/l this guy, Hakim, diagnose then test everything. after diagnose he conclude that : 1. engine compression lost due to leaking, probably gasket (visible) 2. timing not stable at 12 BTDC goes up and down between 8~12 3. idle valve problem (3rd valve, test 1 by 1 using the scan tool) 4. ignition timing problem, incomplete petrol burn due to leaking fuel rail something (visible from outside engine) 5. throttle body problem, solution he spray threebond to clean up. overall car feels much better now easier to throttle after spray threebond + reset ECU although timing become crazy due to reset ECU. also those leaking things i still need to repair it This post has been edited by cloudstrife07: Jan 5 2015, 08:45 PM |

QUOTE(Nightstalker1993 @ Jan 15 2015, 12:34 PM) Where's your location? Sounds like a very expensive repair coming up. Head gasket also quite rarely leak unless you overheat before as the stock 4g18 uses a metal head gasket which is pretty hard to leak. Im from Rawang, specifically Bandar Country Homes (the other side of Rawang)Mine broken down quite a number of times but there's always towing for that is it possible that the metal gasket has been replaced with lauya ones ? 2 years back my mom had top overhauled the car when it reached 400k km. btw bro got any solution for this problem ah ? bought tyres 205/55/R16 with 7.5" width 16 inch rim and it's rubbing the front right and back left fenders when going over bumps This post has been edited by cloudstrife07: Jan 15 2015, 12:51 PM |

QUOTE(kqw @ Jan 15 2015, 07:10 PM) LOL. you terrer la. 205/55r16. not heavy meh? i used to be on 205/50r16 also i rasa heavy dy. it was on 205/55/R15 since years ago. just that the old rim dented already hence trade in for new one. i thought 7.5jj doesnt have much impact compared to old one dunno this rubbing suddenly occur anyway you can try those "COIL SPRING BUFFER". it essentially raises the height by around 2 fingers. the only draw back is, the ride gets quite stiff. depending on where you positioning the spring buffer. i might be wrong but my past experience was: a) all the way top - damn stiff & jarring ride b) all the way bottom - softer, still stiff. c) middle - still stiff. i preferred bottom. dont know how much they cost nowadays. i have one set (back and front). you can contact me if you want them. there is another option. cant remember what they are called. essentially its a white hard rubber thing they place on the damper itself. what tyre size are u using currently ? |

QUOTE(Nightstalker1993 @ Jan 15 2015, 08:10 PM) Lol the gasket is the cheap one, labour is the one that brings the bill up. Overhaul kit probably around RM200 only. alang-alang can meet somewhere make TT oso with other wajarians. Rawang then I can't help you, if you're nearer to Subang area then can try have a look. For the rubbing, you need to knock the fender then it won't rub anymore. I'm running 205/50/15 with 15x8jj rims. Depo-branded headlamp. HID need to get H1 socket HID kit. No need to put la the spring buffer, that one for people who cut spring wan lol. Old putra is ok, perdana is really a b**** to maintain the suspension else you'll be constantly fighting the steering just to go straight. but pls no genting, i sked engine give up halfway |

Sad. Found out the tyre scrape issue. Upon checking it's actually the inner fender plastic has come down due to lost screws + old car.
Had to cut here and there to fix the problem. Sigh. |
