Did you check the bracket that hold your tank? Also there're plenty of clips under the speaker board, I've sponge them.

Btw I'm having problem to solve the squeking noise when I turn my steering to left. Tie rod, absober mounting, lower arm changed but the noise still there. Any idea?
*
fuel tank bracket checked. clips under the speaker board not yet. currently away in kota kinabalu. will check it once am back in kl.
the problem only happened when turning your steering to left / steer the car to left?
any leak on absorber? i was using sapura proride abs before and it had a tendency to become 'squeaky' after it hardened.
did you check the steering bush and absorber link(dog bone, literally) as well? make sure to use the same type on left and right side. in some case, an uneven tire wear / type will bring out the problem but this is rare.
check your arb bushes too.
if the squeaking sound also happened when the car is stationary while steering the wheels to left, most probably 'carrefour syndrome' @ squeaking steering sound caused by the slightly mismatch steering hose installed by proton on earlier batch of waja 4g18p. changing the steering hose to correct ones settled the problem.

QUOTE(sphiroth @ Apr 28 2011, 09:44 PM)
Anyone done soundproofing and/or autofoam? How much is it? If I can only afford to do only either one, which is better?
*
they are 2 different type. autofoam filled up the 'empty' slot inside the frame / chassis. this gives a more solid(increased car's handling and composed ride(no more 'empty can' feel) while filtering the noise that enters from affected area. full package could cost more than 1k.
while conventional multi layer sound proofing material does not increased handling and no composed ride 'feel. its merely filter the sound from outside. cabin does become quieter thus offer a comfort journey.
over the years, i've had done a diy sound proofing on my waja(roof, doors, boot and floor area). total spending is dirt cheap. around 500 bucks only. but the time consumed over a year is quite tiring.
here is the result ; using the stock waja audio system, gsrt engine cruising at 110km/h, volume level maintain
at 9. before the diy soundproofing, the same cd was played at volume level 17.

QUOTE(waja1.6m @ Apr 29 2011, 05:28 PM)
mmm mine is 2003 model.... and i had it up to my neck with this noise.... it is so hard to comprehend that it is due to the return hose, i had to order the return hose, it is out of stock for now in proton part centre... waiting for it to be stocked up. when u changed it, how different were the old part and the new one? any difference in shape or anything like that?
*
the replacement ones is slightly stiffer. i didn't pay attention to the size thou.
your steering bush is fine?

well, result may differ. depending on layer and material being used.
i diy my 4 doors using bitumen strip to cover the holes, cotton waste and 6mm of superflon. a friend who own a civic drove my ol' waja a couple of times said the cabin is quieter than his civic.
btw, am not into ice. prefer to spend money on cabin and engine enhancement. so, that may be a factor too.

should be enough.
you should fine an accessories shop with a test ready car to get a more desirable result then.
else, one with a good feedback from customers.

hi all.. did anyone of you facing the ABS problem b4?
My waja was Waja facelift 2007 campro model. I have my ABS problem which is the yellow ABS light on and off often. When the yellow abs light on, the exclamation mark(!) in the left hand side at the meter box will turn on also.
I think this problem i already faced half year ago.
So, i went to service center(not Proton service center) to check, 1st they tried to using airgun to blow the ABS sensor in order to blow out those sand inside which will blocking the sensor when detect.
After few weeks, i still facing the same problem. So i have to check again with the same service center. Now, they using computer to detect the data fault, which found the error ABS 0121 solenoid relay and 08002 battery voltage.
According to the boss, in order to fix this problem have to change the whole ABS pump which might cost RM1k+. blink.gif
Currently, i havent change the pump yet, and boss ask me to try check in proton service center, because my car still under warranty. But i scare proton service center will not change for me because i have serviced my car outside b4.

Guys, any advice? icon_question.gif Thanks in advance thumbup.gif

what is carrefour syndrome?
*
when u drive slow over uneven surfaces for e.g. carrefour carpark surface, u hear tak tak knocking sound coming from RHS. According to pre 2002 waja owners this is a proton defect and that is due to the power steering return hose that is knocking against something which i'm yet to confirm from those who had experienced it. So again, for all those who have experienced it, please be kind enough to explain if possible with illustrations so that we understand this problem in full.

thanks.

To waja-ains here.
What is the FC for waja batch 02 03 04?
Coz I am planning to get a second hand Waja.
Is there a big difference between Auto and Manual in terms of FC? 1.6
