QUOTE(ChocChristy @ Oct 16 2014, 02:43 PM)
Think this is a huge reason why I find it hard to be motivated to play games lately. I like games with stories, but I guess as I grow older and have more responsibilities, I just can't find time to commit long hours or consistent gaming hours to fully enjoy story-driven games. I will play them for a bit, then feel like I should be doing something useful with my life (like practice my music, work-related stuff, self-grooming etc). Then after awhile, I go back to my games and realised I've forgotten quite a bit of the game and don't feel like jumping back in. Lord of the Rings: War in the North was one of the ones I stopped so long that I already forgotten the storyline when I wanted to finish it lately so I can delete it.
*
That is why I stopped Dishonored, Tomb Raider, Bioshock Infinite DLC and so on and went into games that doesnt take too much time or commitment.

Probably part of growing up. I just cant imagine myself leaving games entirely.

Cari waifu then make her play games.

Actually, I think gaming Waifu might compete with you for your gaming rig. (ie. either you play or she play).
*
Problem is not all waifus are interested in a lot of games to begin with. Especially non gamers.

I dont mind sharing rig or, why not just buy 2? biggrin.gif

Welp can't hurt if you try. I guess I will never find waifu.

Dont say that, you have a lot of opportunity ahead of you. smile.gif

company of heroes 2 any good?  read alot of bad review towards it.  anyone owner can explain more for it???

No harm trying if you have the bandwidth to download it on time.

The campaign is extremely mediocre as it feels like the game does not trust you but hold your hand through the whole campaign which feels like a 10 hours long tutorial with very boring missions. There is also this strange counter attack mechanics that they only use in the campaign where they will spawn periodically to attack your base in a very awkward position where you have to leave a sizable army to defend your base or send your attack force back to defend which made it very frustrating.

If you want to play campaign, try buying all 3 Theater of War packs. The missions are quite fun and I had done quite a few of them. I know some of them, especially the Southern Fronts can be quite difficult. You can also bring a friend to coop with you. Or wait for price drop in Summer sale for the upcoming Ardennes Assault campaign that seemed to be much more fun.

Skirmish wise, the game is decent as the AI is not bad. They know what are they doing but they have a retreat bug towards late game so better put higher difficulty to have a bit of a challenge. The factions are decently fun, especially the US and Oberkommando from Western Front expansion is well designed and unique to play as. Russian and Werchmart feels more like a mirror copy of each other that has different skins and slightly tuned stats. As a whole, it is still pretty fun for me. Plenty of maps and a reasonabley challenging AI will keep you entertained for a while.

Multiplayer, it is plagued with balance issues so at the end, either you use Oberkommando or die. US is fairly weak now. Russia and Werchmark is ok. Relic is never known for good balancing to begin with that I will never recommend a Relic game just for multiplayer.

Feel free to ask any questions.

I'm holding back in case there's Gold / Game of Year / All DLC included version.

Anyone thinks a pack for COH2 is coming out soon ?
*
Highly doubt so, considering the game has some microtrasactions like content.

Really doubt they will bundle everything and sell it as Gold version considering they still have 3 more years of development with CoH2.

i hav xcom: enemy unknown but no dlc
slingshot & elite soldier pack dlc worth to buy?
*
I say yes.

Slingshot adds a 3 mission arc to the game that is interesting for first few play throughs.

Elite Soldier Packs allows you to customise your soldiers further with a few more armor, hair, helmets and so on. It is meant to make you more attached to your soldiers that adds to the game. I usually wont recommend cosmetic content like this but for XCOM, it is an exception.

It just sucks to play on iOS with no customisation at all.

Out of all the 10 games including today's deal, which do you recommend i buy? I dont own any of game.

As far as I know trine 2 not worth it, coz i saw in previous steam offer Trine+Trine2 only 2dollars if i'm not wrong.
So I'm thinking maybe the current price for all 10 is not yet the best price?

And i estimate can only finish 1 game by end of the week, which should I choose?
*
I'll only go through the ones I had played.

Injustice: I do recommend this if you always want to play like a super hero. The way the heroes moves and how they do moves, it does feel like you are playing a benevolent super hero from DC comics as they nail the feeling very well. The story mode is decent too with a decent but typical story.

Company of Heroes 2: This game is a mixed bag for me. The gameplay is better in some ways, like they enhanced the combat with even more destructable environment but they also removed the excellent commander system from CoH1 and replaced it with microtrasaction. The campaign is a bit shit, unless you buy those 3 Theater of War packs. Skirmish is quite fun, as there are a lot of maps to play on and the AI is good but multiplayer is an imbalanced state now. The microtrasacitons arent exactly needed to begin with as most of them are nerfed.

You can buy it for campaign via Theater of War DLCs, skirmish with AI or friends. Just avoid it if you want to play the story campaign and competitive multiplayer.

Can download and try if you have the bandwidth.

Grid 2: Not recommended because a vastly better game, called Grid Autosport is out. The driving physics in grid 2 is terrible as it feels extremely restrictive with the car drifts automatically in curves. There isnt much content while the series's well known multi disciplinary racing from F1 to GTs to road cars are all gone.

Grid Autosport brings back what made Grid 1 fantastic along with some excellent DLCs like drag mode and legend cars. Wait for that game go on sale as Grid 2 just sucks.

Killing Floor: Still the best coop survival game with very good gunplay and support by the developers. The only problem is, there might not be many local servers.Try before you buy.

Awesomenaunts: It is a MOBA side scroller that is easy to learn but hard to master. I played it a bit and I find it to be quite fun due to its charming art style and also generally good gameplay. Try before you buy as I dont know how is multiplayer these days.

Dont Starve: I do recommend this. Unique Tim Burton-esque artstyle with some very good survival gameplay. The developers are great too as they are very open to communication with fans while added a lot of content in its Early Access stage. Then, now, they are patching in coop too.

Payday 2: I wont recommend this, as it is a grind fest because I am not a fan of games that forces you to grind for upgrades. Also, dont buy if you dont have consistent coop friends. Try before you buy.

XCOM: Yes and yes, this is my GOTY of 2012 where this is how you do a reboot of a respected franchise. Still the same nail biting core gameplay but modernised with some new features. There are some mechanics dumbed down but it still retain the difficult nature of the original game. If you like strategy games, this is the game for you.

Get XCOM Complete as the content of the game is generally very good.

CoH2? Now or never? Standard or Digital?
*
Digital would be better as it comes with one Theater of War pack.

The campaign is dreadful so the theater of war DLCs will provide some fun single player missions.

Still, its hard to recommend though as the amount of microtrasactions and DLCs this game have while the gameplay is weaker than the first game. Good graphics though.

Most of the hate for the game stems from its portrayal of the Red Army. The Russians disliked it. You can see the metacritic reviews mostly consists of Russians that hate the historical viewpoint of the game.
*
No, the hate on the game not what happened with how the games portrayed the Red Army. That is nothing compared to the other issues with the game such as current poor balance state, microtrasactions, DLCs, almost universally agreed upon shitty campaign, gameplay dumbed down to support microtrasactions and poor communication from Relic.

I've not played the campaign yet, hence I can't say much but judging from reviews most of the hate really did come from Russians.
*
You got the wrong information. The russians only had dragged down the score at Metacritic and the game is banned from sales physically in Russia.

To honest, that is the least severe problem in comparison to the ones i listed just now.

There is still Western Front Armies that adds 2 more faction that is more interesting than the first 2. Also, an upcoming campaign DLC called Ardennes Assault.

but sales coming soon.....
*
RC 1.0 is not bad. Fun to drive now but the content is still lacking, especially tracks.

If AC is released, I doubt the sale price will be any cheaper than that.

And pCARS is delayed till March 2015. They do need time for polishing if not youll get a buggy product next month.

after tried the weekend free game, and i love XCOM!
should i buy it now? or should i wait until year end sales?

Why not?

It is pretty cheap now and you'll probably get at least 50 hours from it.

I would recommend Complete though as the DLCs for this game are very good.

Anybody still play grid 2. Interested to buy but also want to know is it still worth to buy this rather than grid autosport. If still a lot of people play this, I will buy this.
*
I wont recommend it as it is not as good as Autosport.

The content is lesser, the driving isnt that good, and the AI is worse.

I am looking forward to Civilization: Beyond Earth.

Is there any incoming games that I should be paying attention as I rarely have the time monitor game releases lately?

For me, probably just Call of Duty Advanced Warfare because this is the first cod that is drastically changed in years.

Project CARS is delayed so there isn't much for me now.

Cheese.. be careful man. It might just be another trap.
It might look like it's drastically changing..inb4 it's the same thing again..just with some little awesome mechnanism.
Black Ops 2 has this awesome changes as well but it's kinda the same thing and people were disappointed.
I kinda like bought Ops 2 and Ghost on day 1 and although I always like the story. The gameplay never really changed that much or feels anything new.
It's like Borderlands 2 and Pre-sequel case.
*
Black Ops 2 was quite good as they changed to the pick 10 system that allows you to have some really odd builds. Maps are alright. The problem is the changes are iterative.

Advanced Warfare is the same. Except now they add quake like movements, Crysis like suit abilities and some UT2004 inspired weapons. That's exactly what I want, a faster call of duty with more gadgets and verticality. That is a drastic change to me as cod rarely emphasize on verticality and interesting sci fi weapons. I miss games like UT2004, Advanced Warfare is the closest I can get to a modern UT inspired game with decent community if they don't screw up.

I don't mind if its iterative but I want good gameplay minus the shitty grind. I don't mind BLPS as BL2 was good until UVHM.

I think the price is not bad now. Can get it now and if you enjoy it can buy WFA and other content in winter sale.
