Tips to Survive Major Steam Sales

Rule #1:
From now until the LAST DAY of the sale, if a game is on sale as a daily deal or flash deal, you can buy it. If it is only "on sale" through the entire sale, pass. Do not buy. Save your money (you may need it).

Rule #2:
Check each day for the daily deals, and monitor flash deals. As games come up that you want, you can get them. Just continue to exercise self control for games that are not a daily/flash deal.

Rule #3:
You can purchase the large packs, such as the THQ pack or Square-Enix/Eidos pack at any time if you wish. It is extremely unlikely that those bundles will be discounted any further, even though individual games in those packs may become daily deals. If you want a bundle, go for it. Lots of games, excellent price.

Rule #4:
On the LAST DAY of the sale, Steam traditionally makes its daily deals an encore of the most popular daily deals from the previous days. Go nuts. Buy everything you wanted. Other games are almost never on the daily deals during the last day, at this point, it is safe to buy anything else you've been waiting on.

I got it to work but it looks like the previous URL that is linked to lowyat.net will not work.

I took the same picture and upload it to imgur since the bandwidth there is unlimited. Then, the thumbnails worked.

I took it down some time ago. Couldnt find anything else to replace it. Your internet connection is fine.

Resident Evil 4 is alright, no region lock as Steam gives you ROW, Rest of the World key. Just that if you are from certain russian countries, you cannot buy but you can play it anywhere you want after purchase. The price is slightly higher than the US price though.

Revelations 2, at the moment, it is region free. The preorder isnt up yet so I cant say much. Probably will be the same as Resident Evil 4.

I think this is the first CoD after years that I am interested. The movement system, new gear, interesting weapons, interesting map designs like there is a map that will flood as you play. It is not made by treyarch or IW but a new studio lead by ex-viseral people who made Deadspace.

It is pretty much a reboot to be honest.And this one might be good.

I have been skipping all the games since BO1.

Didnt buy any after that, until AW is announced.



I actually like what am I seeing in the trailers now. It feels like a mixture of Titanfall, CoD, UT2004, Quake 3 and Crysis.

Yeah, I am having problem tracking my achievements.

At the gave up as they did not give me the credits for numerous games.

Tempted to get Sunless Sea, they revamped the combat so it plays a bit like FTL.

That is true, you Steam profile has to be public but sometimes it still doesnt track for some reasons.

I only made it private in recent months after Playfire evidently isnt working.

Nothing to buy from GMG anyway so i dont care anymore.

Still remember paying like RM20 for 1 DVD. Then bring home and found out that the disc doesnt work, crack isnt there or it is buggy which I bring back until I got scolded by the shop keeper. It is not my fault for my inability to install but you discs just doesnt work. Surprisingly, his shop is still open till now. Dunno who still buy from them considering you have Steam if not torrents for the pirates now.

Syukur ada Steam. Most games works alright out of the box now.

Still, even then, even 1Mbps is more than enough to download most games.

Luckily I got a shop near my house that I can walk to but still dun like that shop. Expensive, lousy service then the DVD turn transparent after 6 months.

That store that i used to go, it is still open, probably got some undertable deal.

For me, my main hobbies are gaming, collecting model cars(and occasionally transformers) and occasionally movies if there are any good ones.

I usually game at night, after 9 for maybe an hour to 3 hours. Depending on how tired am I. However, I am trying to cut down on games that need a lot of time, namely MMO which now I am trying to focus solely on racing and strategy games. Doubt i'll be a good Curator if I stopped playing most AAA as I just cant find much time to sit down and enjoy a story heavy game or immerse in a MMO. I prefer those games that can be saved half way easily or can played in short burst so that I can manage my time easier. Except the one more move problem might screw things up a bit.

The collectables hobby, I am actually slowing it down now as it is getting very pricey (RM500 for good quality, RM1500 for top of the range) and also it is hard to find it in Malaysia because Malaysians prefer super cars, like road Lamborghini or Porsche. I prefer to collect either classic cars if not FIA GT3 cars that are hard to find here, if not expensive. Still, it doesnt really take up much time as I just display them on my shelf.

Movies, I am watching very little movies these days as I find it hard to find good movies. Still, I am looking forward to Interstellar. Gone Girl is banned in Malaysia because of boobs so there goes another good one.

Getting old, and I think i need to focus on career and also my fitness more.

I like to get games like Far Cry 4 or Borderlands Pre-Sequel but I doubt I have the time and more importantly, the consistency to play it without dumping it half way like Bioshock Infinite DLC.

That is the reason I like racing games and strategy, I can leave my Civ V game for 2 weeks, then, come back to it and I know where to continue. Or I can do 5 laps on Silverstone in racing games then go to bed. It is hard to do that with a story based games when I return after 2 weeks without feeling lost.

I love long RPGs, but I find it hard to get in now cause I know I want to explore every corner which I give up eventually cause im lost after stopping for 1 week.

Yeah, unfortunately, I love David Fletcher's movies. Gone Girl is well rated but banned here due to a lot of boobs.

Interstellar, thats something that I am really looking forward to. Hope it doesnt suck.

Time isnt a huge issue to me but it i more like consistency.
