Do note that all S60 3rd Edition devices have one inherent problem. The sms sending process gets slower and slower with usage. In some instances, after pressing the send button, the phone gets "stalled" for about 1 min during which u can't do anything with it. The only solution so far now is reseting the phone *#7370# but the problem recurs eventually. I've already reseted my N80 once. I'm just holding out for the next firmware release, and if it still doesn't resolve this issue, I'm definitely selling my N80. No more Nokia's for me. If u think about it, paying RM 2.6K and getting a phone with these problems is totally unacceptable.
Go to howardsforums.com and u'll see lots of ppl experiencing this problem. Sigh..

it is said that there is a major upgrade in the system in N73 where it will be more stable compare to N80

It seems like many of your posts are really pro-S60, and it's a major point for you when you compare different phones.

I'm okay with it. But the point is, not all people really need it doh.gif There's no point paying for something and ended up not utilising it. As I said before, how many people would choose to open .DOC and .PDF document in a 2-inch screen when 17" monitor computer is everywhere nowadays? (I'm not saying that's all a Symbian phone can do, just merely giving an example)

To those who don't really need it, it might be a burden as well, as welwitchia mentioned, some models are suffering slow speed when sending SMS and you've to admit that it's not stable as OS-less handsets.

So IMO it depends on personal preference. For you S60 maybe is a great advantage but maybe for some, they purposely don't want to buy NOkia handsets just because of S60

Just my 2 cents. No sarcasm attempted smile.gif

Hmm decide to decide, its a really hard decision, LOL tongue.gif
If N73 much more stable I think I go for N73, the dual speakers looks yummy for the N73, i wonder N80 has it or not, the last time I checked I remembered dont have sad.gif

^ The N80 has only one speaker. I thought the N73 has 3 speakers? 3D ringtones too tongue.gif

Anyway, i personally find the N73 a tad "ugly". Its gives me the feeling of "big head, small body"..u get what i mean.

I'll stick with the N80 for the time being. The screen is just too good to miss.

Agree, the screen-keypad ratio kinda reminds me of nk3230 or k800. A common problem when a candy bar phone needs to have big screen.

But my main problem is actually the back side which looks really plasticky (especially the red colour one)

Hmm..having said all that, I think i'm gonna take a good look at the phone when i get to the shops. If i like the feel, I think I might actually sell away the N80. I like snapping photos and so far the N80 has been a huge dissapointment..well, for me at least. When taking macro pics, i have to make sure I'm at a correct distance.. to close or far, the shots end up blurry. Duh, its getting a bit tiresome already tongue.gif

Hi, to the owners of N73, does your phone keep having a blue flashing light when u leave it unused for awhile?
What's the light for? Is it ok for it to keep flashing?

Thanks!

no,really...many people eventhough see me commenting on s60(or lack of it) seem to think im pro NOKIA doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif

because it's an unfair advantage.(or disadvantage)
some people might like it,some might not.
plus not many know of it's use...many think it's just a different ui rclxub.gif

yes.(refer above)

OT and abit irrelevant, but not everyone has a computer...(you'd be amazed how many people in my class dont have a computer sweat.gif )
and a laptop isnt very cheap..

ofcourse Doc and PDF files arent the only things you can do with a s60 phone...GPS is also another thing hardly ANYBODY uses sweat.gif
alot of people seem to think only PDAs can do it,but thats far from the truth..

*refer to my 2nd reply*
as for stability issues, imo,it depends on the user...
cos not everything gets deleted when you uninstall a program...much like a computer, many small things are left in the phone..
so if you dont delete those things, you get an unstable phone laugh.gif

So IMO it depends on personal preference.

yeap.
some love it,some hate it laugh.gif
and some dont know about it laugh.gif laugh.gif

not only that.. sweat.gif
it's actually the only thing that makes me buy a phone in the first place tongue.gif
regardless of the brand,if it has no s60(or windows or anything similiar) i wont buy it... laugh.gif

hows the sound quality when using the earphones?
*
as you all know nokia is just trying to improve it's sound quality but no point at all ...music quality for earphones is totally lack of bass but the sounds of it's stereo speaker is much better than in E680i moto phones ...and when i compare it with my K750i ...sound from from k750i seems to more louder and sharper but nokia 73 added some extra sound from dual dimension and better i think ..but you have to test it yourself for confirmation tongue.gif

Wow! already 21 pages for N73? Nice! Good to know there's a few early adopters here besides me. rclxms.gif Just got mine two weekends ago.

With regards to the audio quality, it loses out to K750i. Even my K700i sounds overall clearer + richer. N73 tends to have slight noise and distortion when u crank the volume up but it's acceptable and within my tolerance. Just that i'm too used to SE's audio quality. tongue.gif

Besides that, everything else is awesome! Menu navigation is fast/smooth as compared to the former S60v2 or older Symbian OSes. I love shooting. Pic shots are good. (probably can even beat Canon's 350D after rescaled to 4R...pun intended...hahaha) I love the back lens slider. It feels solid whenever u open/close it. Oooh...the rubbery feel biggrin.gif

I find the keypad a little too small and crampy for my liking but typing SMS on it is smoother compared to K700i.

Another wonderful thing is the battery. It can last me 3 full days without recharging + 3G activated! (average 15~20 calls/sms per day, few video&pic shots, light 3G surfing and a couple of apps/games. thumbup.gif The 1100 mAh batt supposedly the same used for Nokia Communicator series. No wonder the batt performance is superb! Heard this from the guy who sold me this baby. For me, phone is 'nothing' without a good batt. Btw, N80 sux at this. biggrin.gif

Actually I was also in dilemma earlier deciding between this phone and N80/K800i. Well, luckily i made the right choice. icon_rolleyes.gif Anyway, it's up to what you want in a phone. Guess this serves my purpose. A 'smart-phone' for a 'smart-buyer' tongue.gif

Yo guys , ask a quite noobie question
other than checking the Zitron sticker and IMEI , is there any other way to identify if it is an original phone?

Yup. Observe whether there's Nokia hologram stickers on the phone & batt. Check it out from Nokia's site: http://www.nokia-asia.com/nokia/0,8764,78427,00.html
