read more abt kernels 1st. but basically custom kernel provides better touch, better battery performance, better handling between hardware and software interactions, more tweaks to undervolt or overclock, more tweaks that allows users to superspeed the cpu, etc

Franco Kernel Updater (paid)

11.59
1 - Fix a bug where auto-flashing on the One Plus One could make your device bootloop due to wrongly calculated image size
2 - Fix a bug where backup & restore would bootloop One Plus One devices´
3 - Add vibration amp support for the One Plus One (Kernel Settings)

The problem is suspected to stem from the "persist" partition getting corrupted during the reboot, even though CyanogenMod doesn't use this particular location. The damaged area doesn't get fixed like other partitions because a filesystem integrity check isn't ran. It's left corrupted, and even though the area isn't needed for the OS to run, the OnePlus One boot loops anyway.

after going thru related xda topics, i think all users who updated their device to 38R to just do this tweak. seems like its a bug that came with the OTA. i guess this is one of the bug that oneplus missed out or maybe due to no 38R full rom available. dirty flash style is never my kind of flash laugh.gif

well. im doing a nandroid backup as i am reading thru this thread and doing some work. once done, i'm applying that fix to my device even i have no reboot problems at all.

but if some power user like Chyan also had some issues upon upgrading to 38R, i believe its better to be safe than sorry.

Added method for users to report bugs directly to Cyanogen.
Added pause button during video recording.
Improved battery life.
Fixed issues with camera exposure compensation stuck in ‘auto’.
Fixed issues with ‘4G Preferred’ option not connecting to 3G data.
Fixed issues with delay in torch activation.
Fixed issues with unresponsive screen requiring reboot.
Fixed issues with static in speaker when changing volume while headset plugged in.
Fixed issues with rotation not triggering when rotated slowly.
Fixed issues with Quiet Hours / system UI causing battery drain on last day of month.
Fixed issues with camera not starting when LED torch is already on.
Fixed issues with Bluetooth volume low on connection.

this is the list of the 38r changelog.. so, if u didnt have such issues previously on 33r, no different la tongue.gif
