But what is the commercial use of such apps? Clean high end designed website complete with a support system yet it is such a controversial app ohmy.gif

Did you wipe cache? Try rebooting your phone. If problem still persists can try reflashing the update smile.gif Someone else also had similar battery drain problems and then after reflashing it got better. wink.gif

If you do a quick google search on it, you will notice all kind of funny sites with review on it and whatsoever.

Be smart. Don't simply grant su permission if you're rooted. When install an app, read and check the permission the app is requesting. Example, a game app is requesting to access your SMS, I mean why does a game need access to my messages?

He's not using it. He is merely stating that there are these kind of apps out there.

I guess ppl who use pirated apps are more exposed to those spy apps

nope. for android, if you are rooted, your are exposed. the only way to avoid is not to simply hand your handphone to anyone

but if someone your gf decided to install it while you are sleeping, ggwp

u turn off location manually? it silently turn it on back icon_question.gif

True, I'm trying so hard to not install APKs on my OPO as I did with my GNex because of the risk. Is there anyway to know if an APK is bad besides comparing the official size and the apk size?

totally your call

if u decide to keep it, do the clean install back, a factory reset wont help

if u want to request for a new device, test the new device thoroughly.
