I played dota since when I was 14, form 2. I kept playing dota until now, and yes Im one of the earliest player of dota 2, yes! today, there were million of player in Malaysia. I used to play for fun, winning some tourney, mostly organized by university, or nearby cybercafe, Im a captain myself, and to be honest, my drafts are good. until one day, my friend, hes a pro, real pro, he never play dota for fun, hes well-known at USM for his distinctive plays and team, and he said, "main hari-hari takkan kalah jugak kot" yes. that stikes me down. sakit gila kena ayat macam tu. and because of I am still a student, well, students must know how to manage their time well right, I did it right I guess for 3 years, now Im a final year student of mechanical engineering. so a week I only play 10 hours of dota2. and my seniors, my friends that already grads, works and in the night, they play dota, but for fun of course, and I thought, why dont I have dota as my side career, so heres the thread. SOLO MMR 4267 PARTY MMR 4120 <<<<< my friends throw a lot! so, if, just if anybody have the same thinking. why dont we try to create a team, about sponsor, can ask my friends working, telco company, cybercafe owner, yes my friend own a cc. |

My advice, if you really want to go far in local dota scene, focus on raising your solo mmr first.
That's what i'm doing right now. I'm done playing for teams. I've lost my patience already, i'm done carrying other players. No more competitive dota for me until i reach 6k. If i can't do it, then i need to move on, find better things to do than wasting my time playing dota. I have flatly refused to play for a team with sponsorship(team house + rm400 salary + can play free at cc) before, because i consider my potential teammates not good enough. RM400, you kidding me? i can earn more working at 7-11, even mmr booster earned more than that. Why bother with teams when playing solo mmr gives you better quality practice. Get to 6k, top teams will msg you and ask you to stand in for them. Sekarang zaman leaderboards, bukan zaman g-arena lagi. Sekarang semua team kutip player dari leaderboards je. Your mmr right now doesn't matter. I've trained a 4.2k player to 5k before. Took him 4 month to reach 5.3k from 4.2k. Its not talent, its attitude. This game is never about skill, its your game knowledge, and it can be taught. This might seem harsh, but in my opinion you must understand reality before you can achieve your goal. |

Check this out - http://www.reddit.com/r/DotA2/comments/2ih..._revolutionary/ Ive met a lot of great players. but some of them cant play in a team, I mean, the mechanics of nuke, aids, items active, passive and such. and guess what, I played supports and i realized, the thing about MMR is that, you have to take care of your KDA real good. even when I use my friends ID, of 5k MMR, teamfight arent that good, the syncs are not what I expected. my friend, a carry, can never play supports, even supp, he'l get items but surely teamfight are at loss, he get 4.4k. so, the thing is, not all 4.5++ are that good. sometimes even a 3k player makes a better game. ggwp?? **main hari2, still, a 22yo mechanical engineering student, just how hari2 you play |

QUOTE(Anip92syn @ Oct 8 2014, 02:03 AM) true. First and foremost, once you're calibrated, the only thing that matters is winning/losing. I play support very often, and my main account did hit 5k at one point. The argument that you must be a core to get a good rating is invalid. Secondly, if you're unable to hit that rating, then you lack the mechanics/efficiency to consistently perform at that level. Consistency is everything. I've beaten pro players before, but that's like 1/10. The other 9 times we meet I'd probably get my ass handed to me. I understand this sounds very harsh, but unless you can compete at post-5k level, you're not going to be able to find decent teammates, let alone progress far in tier 1/2 tournaments. Just like Kaizer said, your focus should be on improving your individual skill - landing a leaderboard position will open up doors to invites from pro/semi-pro teams.Ive met a lot of great players. but some of them cant play in a team, I mean, the mechanics of nuke, aids, items active, passive and such. and guess what, I played supports and i realized, the thing about MMR is that, you have to take care of your KDA real good. even when I use my friends ID, of 5k MMR, teamfight arent that good, the syncs are not what I expected. my friend, a carry, can never play supports, even supp, he'l get items but surely teamfight are at loss, he get 4.4k. so, the thing is, not all 4.5++ are that good. sometimes even a 3k player makes a better game. ggwp?? **main hari2, still, a 22yo mechanical engineering student, just how hari2 you play |

"**main hari2, still, a 22yo mechanical engineering student, just how hari2 you play" simple, for u its better to focus on study / career edi, yes its kinda too late to start now but in the end still up to u, if now is 2030, hope might still exist.Ive met a lot of great players. but some of them cant play in a team, I mean, the mechanics of nuke, aids, items active, passive and such. and guess what, I played supports and i realized, the thing about MMR is that, you have to take care of your KDA real good. even when I use my friends ID, of 5k MMR, teamfight arent that good, the syncs are not what I expected. my friend, a carry, can never play supports, even supp, he'l get items but surely teamfight are at loss, he get 4.4k. so, the thing is, not all 4.5++ are that good. sometimes even a 3k player makes a better game. ggwp?? **main hari2, still, a 22yo mechanical engineering student, just how hari2 you play |

making anew acct for good mmr is ntg, real skills are those frm low mmr and rise up to high mmr.kda means ntg if u dunno teamwork and teamplay to win.
ive seen games of one sided pawnage but lose 1 war and let the feeding team comeback and win the game, does kda help in such situation?no :/ like kaizer said,if u can reach till5-6k mmr..theres a huge difference of playstyle and skill lv,they might feed but they can win the game |

I think you've misunderstood what I said. Recalibration means nothing because it lacks consistency. You can try your best to get calibrated at 5k, but if you're not still sitting there at 100 games later, it means nothing. Look up some of the smurf account discussions on Dotabuff, this topic has been discussed to death already.-Ill use the account when I just having a blast with my usual account. mostly after 3 shout-out streaks -I play alone and I kind of never care about my teammate -mostly cs 16X/8X , even already winning, I tried to find my own creeps to deny -take good care of my KDA alone, thanks God, my KDA would be 5.5 - 7 but the thing is, there is no good sync between me and my teammates, I just only can try to act alone, being a hero with fkin good KDA. so wish me luck, hoping to get a good MMR. and Ill post it here. and trust me, the basis of getting good MMR (4.5 >>) is to take good care of your KDA. |
