Too thick to apply 2 layers. The maximum thickness you can apply is around 6mil. If you want to apply 2 layers, best go for those 2mil solar tint.

3k inclusive of tint and coating? Never heard of this tint brand before. You can do separately if you want. Tint for whole car for 3M, Huper Optik and Llumar should cost about 2k ish. Vkool should cost a bit more.

Coating depends on brand, layers, warranty and etc but should cost from 1.2k to 2k.

Combining both should amount to around 3k.
*
is there a reason max thickness cannot be more than 6mil? too thick for side windows motor to work smoothly? how about for windscreen?

SA told me the windscreen and window gonna be too heavy (I wonder how heavy 6mil could be  sweat.gif) It'll affect the power window (for side windows) and front windscreen might make noise.
*
QUOTE(widget @ Jun 20 2018, 10:33 AM)
Windscreen should stick to normal solar tint, and not security tint, so should be 1.5 to 2 mil.
For security tint, nowadays manufacturers specs are between 4 to 6 mil. There are still some offering 7 or 8 mil, but very rare already.

For Minolta Skytint security tint, the specs is 4 mil, so if you want to make it darker just stick normal solar tint on top of it

ahh...i see.

ya will probably replace windscreen tint and do add-on for side and rear windows...
that's if i do get my car laugh.gif still no new stock from factory

*

im still not sure for the interior coating. was thinking of over the shelf leather protector products might be better.

i took 6 layers + interior coating 10 years package cost me 4k+ last time. For me the skill of the shop is important. My side the shop is not really good in polishing. the polish scattered and they still apply coating on it. My fren case, polished until the paint become dull.. over polished.

for interior actually nothing much help if u take care ur car.. cx5 interior sensitive to heat make sure ur tint and sun shade is good to block the heat if not ur steering will peel off. But i am 1.5 gen owner not sure if the same problem still exist in 2nd gen. I took the package because i wanted more layer of coat.  bruce.gif

And coating d doesnt mean you dont have to take care ur car. I left my car outdoor and prone for rain. Even wash my car every week / alternative week, i still get a lot of water mark where i have to send back to ceramic pro to correct it only after 6 months of application.
*
oh thx for the review.

just wondering, you sent back to ceramic pro for touch up, how do they charge?

i asked my local ceramic pro shop, they say dont need to go back for check. if want, can do once a year but they didnt tell me whether got charge.

is it for the shop to tell you whether need touch up or where to touch up, or your own decision?

no touch up required. send back for free. if u accident, one panel at 1 time they can do for u free. they verbally tell me there's a limit only how many times u can go in a year... 1st year 3 times, 2nd year 2 times, 3rd year 1 time and the rest the same.
*
i see. so basically, if no accident, dont need to go back to reapply?

theoretically yes. But in most of the case u will get water mark some minor scratches. Those you need to send back for them they will polish off and recoat. You cannot polish or use abrasive wax to clean it by urself

noted bro. thx

I see. mine different abit.

I paid deposit RM1k, loan approved and signed, deposit havent paid - RM20k.
NCD i think still not yet transferred.
All still like that until today, because my SA said still no news of my car.

Eric already posted in MCCM that he ask to do survey for the paint chip issue. Mine haven't got yet, so temporary ignore.

Suddenly feel that you guys stop doing Paint Protect Film first, just in case you wrap whole car for few K, but then Bermaz announce that they admit the fault and recall for repaint.
That time you wasted your film money already.
*
me too...wait until neck long already.
anyone here seen any new stocks arriving at showroom/yard/on trailer?

did you guys read the latest vehicle sales data for May 2018?

There was a significant drop (-45%) in sales for Mazda in May 2018 as compared to Apr 2018. Average sales for Mazda is about 1k units per month. SOS

Does this mean that Bermaz should have some extra stock lying around? drool.gif Trying to be hopeful for our members who are still waiting for their car.

Although the sales manager at my dealer told me that Mazda actually stop production for this month due to Hari Raya confused.gif I thought production is usually 24 hours but maybe he meant it as in the assembly plant is assembling other brands/models. Or he just pulling my leg...

sorry to hear about your predicament @voncrane. all we want as a consumer is just to get what we pay/ask for with our money. why is it so hard sometimes sad.gif i hope you can get a settlement with bermaz.

if they really did hanky panky to get 2018 on the RC card, i think Bermaz should be more at fault. i dont think dealers are able to do such thing.

Woah...good headup bro!

how the software need to flash to enable that?

I not sure B3rmaz saw this will take away the hardware or not on the upcoming units.  brows.gif

sharing is caring. icon_rolleyes.gif

been trying to read up on it today. seems like need to modify some of the bin code in the software. quite in depth discussion mazda 3 revolution forums.

need to contact our fellow bro in MCCM FB page to see which ELM327 OBD unit he's using. hehe

but like duckies mention, alot of it G2 already have. although i would like the double press unlock on remote to sound the honk feature. seem like useful when looking for car at carpark.

Not sure how much he'll charge since we are talking about some good features here. The next question to ask if we are able to enable the Lane Departure Warning System, High Beam Control, Lane Keeping Assist and Driver Attention Alert which is only in the diesel variant. If the hardware we got in GLS is the same as the diesel warrant, very high chances we can enable it too.
*
if not mistaken, i read at that forum saying that LKA and HBC needs a control module/extra hardware, so not sure whether 2.0GLS have this or not.

HCB can be done..that guy did it for 2.0GLS,  I m looking fwd for someone to hack MCCB for my 2.2D

I went through the threads in a certain forum. They managed to enable and tested High Beam Control (HBC), Smart City Brake System (SCBS) for rear, Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) and Adaptive LED Headlights (ALH)

Features below are enabled but not tested yet:
Lane Keep Assist System (LAS) and Driver Attention Alert (DAA)

Apparently we have very similar hardware between 2.0 GLS and 2.2 D. Will need some programming knowledge in binary and HEX value, lots of courage and the willingness to try. Else just pay someone else to do it - bro Siddeh should know how to do it soon.
*
wah...cx-5 feels like an android phone now. can root and hack for extra features drool.gif

wondering will Adaptive front lighting system (AFS) interfere with Adaptive LED Headlights (ALH). because one is trying to turn the headlights and one is adjusting the beam. and also since bermaz offer either either ALH or AFS in the different variants but not both. hmm.gif

You are welcome.. Not yet changed anything.. Cuz just started and have only done the first service. Ask me again in 3 or 4 years time..  laugh.gif
Total cost to resprary the car after say 5 years could be around 3K or less depending on color type. Coating does NOT protect against stone chips, etc. Just keeps original paint more shiny for longer. I DIY myself.. Took a couple hours over 2 weekends to wash, claybar, dry, apply sealant, allow days to cure, wash again and apply hard wax over it.. Tossed Rain-X on all glasses including side mirrors.. Used a cleaner and conditioner/protectant on almost all interior parts, boot included..Now can wash and dry like normal and it's hydrophobic & shiny.. Easy to wipe off bird shit, bugs etc when out an about.. Satisfied cuz so much highway driving and zero chips.  Will redo again in 6 months.. Total cost? RM200 + elbow grease. But I agree, not for everyone. I didn't think I could, but glad I did.  smile.gif
Hmm, not that I really need it.. Cuz so far, gear shifts have been okay.
*
mind to share what detailing products you used? still contemplating on whether to get coating. found another reputable detailer here using Modesta and SEI3031 coating (1.6k-1.9k).

few years back i've tried meguiars NXT wax but ever since bottle finished didnt buy anymore. after that got try meguiars quik wax and quik detailer. although now hardly have time to wash and wax my car ever since welcoming my child last year blush.gif interior i used meguiars natural shine protection but that was more for plastic dash. now not sure what to use for cx5's leather dash/seats.

U changed ur transmission oil at Mazda dealership? At mazda service centre
Ur car's total mileage? 50k
6 years old? 3 years old
Any issue? none so far...and i love it
*
3 years old then your car is still under warranty. SC willing to change? thought they insisted on changing only at 100k.
maybe can do "offline" with smaller SC. pay them to change but don't include in main bill or bill separately. money for them also hmm.gif

KUALA LUMPUR: At least one car distributor is absorbing the Sales and Service Tax if their customers had booked before Sept 1, but their vehicles are only delivered after that date.

An official at Bermaz Auto Bhd, the company that distributes Mazda cars, said it would honour bookings made before the introduction of SST and would absorb the tax and not pass it on to its customers.
