Too thick to apply 2 layers. The maximum thickness you can apply is around 6mil. If you want to apply 2 layers, best go for those 2mil solar tint.

3k inclusive of tint and coating? Never heard of this tint brand before. You can do separately if you want. Tint for whole car for 3M, Huper Optik and Llumar should cost about 2k ish. Vkool should cost a bit more.

Coating depends on brand, layers, warranty and etc but should cost from 1.2k to 2k.

Combining both should amount to around 3k.

SA told me the windscreen and window gonna be too heavy (I wonder how heavy 6mil could be  ) It'll affect the power window (for side windows) and front windscreen might make noise.

Windscreen should stick to normal solar tint, and not security tint, so should be 1.5 to 2 mil.
For security tint, nowadays manufacturers specs are between 4 to 6 mil. There are still some offering 7 or 8 mil, but very rare already.

For Minolta Skytint security tint, the specs is 4 mil, so if you want to make it darker just stick normal solar tint on top of it

coating will not help on the paint chip causes my stone. I have ceramic pro 9h coating on my cx5 but some stone chip are pretty deep on it. Unless u willing to go for ppf wrap

i took 6 layers + interior coating 10 years package cost me 4k+ last time. For me the skill of the shop is important. My side the shop is not really good in polishing. the polish scattered and they still apply coating on it. My fren case, polished until the paint become dull.. over polished.

for interior actually nothing much help if u take care ur car.. cx5 interior sensitive to heat make sure ur tint and sun shade is good to block the heat if not ur steering will peel off. But i am 1.5 gen owner not sure if the same problem still exist in 2nd gen. I took the package because i wanted more layer of coat. 

And coating d doesnt mean you dont have to take care ur car. I left my car outdoor and prone for rain. Even wash my car every week / alternative week, i still get a lot of water mark where i have to send back to ceramic pro to correct it only after 6 months of application.

no touch up required. send back for free. if u accident, one panel at 1 time they can do for u free. they verbally tell me there's a limit only how many times u can go in a year... 1st year 3 times, 2nd year 2 times, 3rd year 1 time and the rest the same.

theoretically yes. But in most of the case u will get water mark some minor scratches. Those you need to send back for them they will polish off and recoat. You cannot polish or use abrasive wax to clean it by urself

Not sure how much he'll charge since we are talking about some good features here. The next question to ask if we are able to enable the Lane Departure Warning System, High Beam Control, Lane Keeping Assist and Driver Attention Alert which is only in the diesel variant. If the hardware we got in GLS is the same as the diesel warrant, very high chances we can enable it too.

HCB can be done..that guy did it for 2.0GLS,  I m looking fwd for someone to hack MCCB for my 2.2D

I went through the threads in a certain forum. They managed to enable and tested High Beam Control (HBC), Smart City Brake System (SCBS) for rear, Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) and Adaptive LED Headlights (ALH)

Features below are enabled but not tested yet:
Lane Keep Assist System (LAS) and Driver Attention Alert (DAA)

Apparently we have very similar hardware between 2.0 GLS and 2.2 D. Will need some programming knowledge in binary and HEX value, lots of courage and the willingness to try. Else just pay someone else to do it - bro Siddeh should know how to do it soon.

You are welcome.. Not yet changed anything.. Cuz just started and have only done the first service. Ask me again in 3 or 4 years time.. 
Total cost to resprary the car after say 5 years could be around 3K or less depending on color type. Coating does NOT protect against stone chips, etc. Just keeps original paint more shiny for longer. I DIY myself.. Took a couple hours over 2 weekends to wash, claybar, dry, apply sealant, allow days to cure, wash again and apply hard wax over it.. Tossed Rain-X on all glasses including side mirrors.. Used a cleaner and conditioner/protectant on almost all interior parts, boot included..Now can wash and dry like normal and it's hydrophobic & shiny.. Easy to wipe off bird shit, bugs etc when out an about.. Satisfied cuz so much highway driving and zero chips.  Will redo again in 6 months.. Total cost? RM200 + elbow grease. But I agree, not for everyone. I didn't think I could, but glad I did.

Mix of Meguiars sealant, claybar, TurtleWax hard wax for exterior and leather+plastics interior protection and conditioner.. So far so good.

Age/mileage  of your cx5? Did u change atf & filter?
