whatever you do.. Use test-pen to test all wiring (all green/red/black wiring). Make sure no current before do anything.. Your wiring maybe messed up by previous wiring man..

ohh, because the condo i'm staying already have a doorbell point. existing wiring come out from wall. so just fully utilize it. outside also already have a press button. just that without the chime.

If you know nothing about electricity, it is strongly adviced that you do not DIY. There is a chance of injury and death, while you're fiddling. And if you install it wrong, to the people who use your door bell.

you just need to find out which 1 is L and N ....

normally Red and Black .... and do check the polarity at the door bell ... for suis no need ... check with multimeter if you have 1 ....

I think i get it. Those 3 cable bundled together are Blue = Live, Black = Neutral and Green = Earth. Take a test pen and check if there is any voltage coming from the RED wire. If the test pen light up, dont do anything. If the test pen light doesnt light up, screw it on the E1 and E2 terminal. Blue and Black wire goes to the terminal down there marked with <AC 230V>. Green cable, screw it on the metal part of your doorbell. About the red cable, the best is to check for voltage first, if there is no voltage, separate them and do continuity test on them by using multimeter. Put the multimeter tester pin on each of the red cable, and press the door bell switch. If the meter goes up when you press it, then its confirmed the RED cable is the switch wire. If you wanna do them, turn of the main breaker before doing the work, thats because of the "loop" at the 3 cables bundled together with the connecter. If you somehow cut the Neutral that is from some other source, if might electrocute you. So be careful of the broken neutral tongue.gif. Its more dangerous then the Live wire because you cant see it coming tongue.gif

Red wire to E1 and E2. 2 Blue goes into 1 terminal marked AC 230V. 2 Black goes into ANOTHER terminal marked AC 230V. Green goes to metal parts of your doorbell unit, or screw it into the designated earth terminal screw if there is any.

Aisey, every doorbell comes with installation diagram leh. Just follow the diagram.

The usual will be :

2 cables for incoming 240v supply.
2 cables running to the switch and from the bell to connect and activate the bell. So u push the switch, shorting both cables activates the bell and ting tong loh biggrin.gif

Kaotim.

U dont really have to bother bout the green as its a bell device, not electronic device that requires earthing. So he can cut off the green and roll it aside.

E1 and E2 is the red cables which is the switch of the bell. Power supply 240v is the blue and black. If thats how they wired your house lah. Neither way, best to get a multimeter to check which is the voltage. Dont assume, u might blow up the unit and black out. U dont have to turn off ur entire house supply but if u have no meter to test, then thats the only option. Buy a multimeter and keep, it will be useful in many ways for u in future smile.gif

Yes blue and black can be in either terminal. Same goes to red. Test pen can only test for live wire, neutral u cant test. Thats why u need a meter.

ohh, noted. I use test pen just now. red wire the test pen will light up. the rest no light up. so I should switch off main switch in db, then 1 red to E1 and the other red go to E2, then 2 blue go AC terminal, 2 black go another AC terminal.

then switch on main switch and press bell. kaboom?

Exactly why i wondered why your live and neutral diff color. Usually live and neutral is red and black. So hook the blue to the switch, red and black to the incoming power. Boom. Done.
