I've seen people running high end cards with low grade power supply. That is another problem.

mostly u guys all spend too much on the ram. most importantly is psu. what g skill, vengeance etc all gimmick..

Yup. It is Seasonic M12 II 620W in disguise.

Not the design per se, but is the metal chokes used. Cheaper solutions usually use lower grade chokes, where the metal coils reverberate (and run hotter) inside a hollow casing. Asus and MSI uses their own SAP and SFC premium alloy chokes, so the coil whine is usually kept at minimum or none. My personal experience running reference based cards, from Titan, 670, 680, R9 290..all faced this problem. Non-reference card so far I only faced is Sapphire R9 280X Vapor-X, I have no idea, even with the Black Diamond chokes, I still can hear very noticeable coil whine.

just bought Gainward 970 phantom, and saw the coil issue video with same card =(

something due to user using cheapstake psu can cause coil whine.

ya mostly but sometimes u're unlucky due to the card itself or u push too hard.

gooding arrived, now fingers crossed for coil whine.

bro pls kindly print screen the temp during heavy load like u playing games with ultra max. i personally don't trust benchmark. this phantom can easily clean the fan.

haha bro u interested gainward? i won't buy cos they come with mini port very leceh one. i prefer standard displayport & hdmi.
