Bought the Zotac GTX 970 Extreme, installed it last night and ran stress test and play some games. No whine coil or whatsoever under load only noticed the fan speed increase rapidly...

Maybe the power supply could affect the coil whine. PSU with very stable regulation and low ripple and noise helps.
