Rome Total War still does not work (needing directx9 or something). Not that I play the game much anyway but having created mods for that game I may have to check from time to time.
Medieval 2 surprisingly works to had few crashes here and there.. All newer games (Shogun 2 until Attila) works flawlessly though I have to re0verify the game cache on Steam every time windows have those big updates (change build).

QUOTE(horns @ Jul 27 2015, 11:03 AM) imo it's common that some games don't work while some do. however i believe everything will settle down a few months after ga release. os previews are moving targets. testing stuff with it just give you rough ideas on what could be problematic (but those problems might come and go, and then come again). still a few days to ga release. i will do a clean install after that date to see if the activation will work or not. from what i have read, some guys have tested that when you do upgrade with a fresh 8.1 via offline, you don't need to install all windows updates. all it matters is the windows is activated. internet connectivity is key to successful activation. There's a work around at this moment from what I've read on TWC forum is that to reinstall directx9 latest package while using win7 before upgrading to win10 but that's something I'm not prepared to do. In any case I'm probably going to get a new pc once the skylake becomes available (and I can affor it) so I'll let my current pc use win7 while that new one use win10. This pc also needs good spring cleaning so I may get an SSD and do clean installation anyway. From now I will continue using win10. So what will; happen on the 29th ? Will we have to do reinstall or can just continue with whatever version we're using now ?

Where can we check what version we have now since there's no more watermark on the desktop ?
One other thing, let's say after Win10 officially release and I got a new SSD as bootdisk and need a new installation. Do I need to install windows7 first then upgrade to windows10 or I can just use windows10 isntaller (if there's any) and use my windows7 keys to activate ?

Damn. My Lumia still not yet upgradable to windows 10. ANyone have any idea when the mobile version goes live ? I don't really follow the mobile section much.
In any case, last night I manual check for updates on my windows10. It says mine is up to date. Does it mean what I have now is the current version already as I have not had any updates since the OS went live. I did have few bug updates since a week ago though.

QUOTE(lolzcalvin @ Jul 30 2015, 10:01 AM) Double-check your current windows 10 version just by looking at the details of your OS (right click > properties at "This PC"). If it's still "Windows 10 Technical Preview" then you may need to find solutions in this thread to trigger the update then. Thanks.

QUOTE(delsoo @ Jul 30 2015, 10:24 AM) I have heard it's not advisable to upgrade to win 10 unless u gt 8 gb ram or above, is it true?? Mine is just 4 GB ram running 64bit and games works better in windows10 that windows7 (maybe be side effects with upgraded drivers too though).

QUOTE(Pat89 @ Dec 15 2015, 03:44 PM) Window 10 is sucks man! My laptop keeps freezing like hundreds times a day, freeze up my excel, words and entire system for a least 3-4 minutes each time! Tried to update window update, clean all junk, scan for virus, scan for optimization, remove MS 2013 and install MS 2016. Works fine for few days now it's coming back! Now installing fail for - • Upgrade to Windows 10 Home Single Language, version 1511, 10586. Any helps sifu? Just feel like throw it away and buy a mac instead.... Download more RAM they say... On a serious note, 4GB is barely enough but I never have freezing issue with Windows 10 ever (or windows 7 or 8 for that matter). My guess probably you hard disk is about to fail ? Clean reinstall can halp but make sure all the bios are updated (if your laptop is old).

QUOTE(Pat89 @ Dec 15 2015, 06:06 PM) Does it really help? I'm using 8GB ram and I think it is more than enough to keep the application running. Oh damn....don't tell me it's time. Can torrent cause the hard disk fail? Mine as well just change the HDD now, better than never haha Mine is just 1 year Dell tho...is that consider old already? Depends on how you 'abuse' the hard disk. I year is pretty new (mine's more than 3 years already) however freezing issues are most likely driver issues or hard disk issue, not OS. Could be the applications issue too. Anyway, Windows 10 simply hates pirates and it seems able to detect them whenever they are inside our hard disks.

QUOTE(Pat89 @ Dec 16 2015, 09:46 AM) Then maybe I should call dell support to find out if there's any driver issues. However, if you're talk about pirate software issue, might be caused by MS 2016 that I downloaded last week from torrent...I know we do not encourage piracy here...sorry for that! haha by the way, I'm scanning my HDD using dell support provided tools. Will post it here upon the completion. LOL. Using pirated mictosoft product on windows 10 is strictly no-no... For your own pc health sake. Trust me. That's why now I use the free open office software at home.

QUOTE(Pat89 @ Dec 16 2015, 11:40 AM) Oh really? Never thought about that lol....should I just uninstall and see if there issue still exist? Could be. I remembered that I've read somewhere where it mentioned that Windows 10 can make pirated software simply stops working. People complained that it's intrusive though.
