Hi!

I've inherited an O2 XDA II mini from my mum and to my dismay the guide book (that comes with the phone) is long gone!  shocking.gif

I've been able to figure out a few functions but I have yet to configure my internet, gprs and mms settings. Problem is I don't know how and where to set them. I'm running on digi network.

Can anyone help me?

try look for autoconfig inside ur 'Program'...cos normally those telco's gprs & mms settings will be pre-installed inside the PPC wan.

I think all you have to do is go to Programs>Auto Config .... and then select the netork provider you are on. Hey anyone know how to purge task that I have already checked on my Tasks list??? so far I have had to delete checked items manually one by one. Is there some setting that can be used to make this simpler?

tried soft resetting a few times but still cannot play mp3. Now I convert all my mp3s to wma since mini can support mwa as ringtone.

ya, me too think only a hard reset can solve this problem but dont wish to hard reset at the moment. maybe later la. thanks

Support for Mini!!! It's a good buy for a decent device which does most of the average person's needs. Except for WiFi (which you can buy an SDIO for it at RM100+), it is by far not much difference from the newer WM5 devices! Get one from ppl whom you are familiar with or from ppl who will suppport you after buying.

OK i try to give my suggestions based on what I experienced before k. Firstly, in my Storage Card>My Songs, all the songs there were in.wma format. They played well in WMP obviously. Then after I installed TCPMP and GS Player, the formats of almost ALL my songs there changed to the MPEG 3 format! What my friends told me was that GSPlayer converts those .wma songs into MPEG 3 which it can read to play songs. You may ask me how on earth that GS Player can convert it. Apparently, I dunno how true it is, some song files can be flexible in terms of the file extensions, ie some may be having MPEG 3 and WMA extensions at the same time. Based on the application available, it changes accordingly by the application. In my case, when I added songs into my GSPlayer library, not all the songs were converted to MPEG3 which is playable by it. I checked my Storage card and found tat of the 70songs there, 60 changed icons and extensions while 10 remained as WMA ones. So my guess is, the WMA files you set as ringtones earlier, were somehow converted to another format which GS Player can read but NOT for Windows for a ringtone. The default ringtones can be played cos they are memang WMA files which die die also there. The problem with setting song files as ringtones is this-sometimes they get changed by another 3rd party app and cant be used as ringtone later. One more thing I noted is that sometimes after this kind of things happened it is not so easy to revert back by deleting off files or changing back to default. Try using a converter to convert the MPEG 3 ones into WMA ones, and have 2 of the same songs at different formats for different purposes. This is what I think. Correct me if Im wrong k.

thanks for your detail explanation but what I worry the most is that, if I try playing wma songs in GSPlayer, I worry this time even wma files cant be play in my mini.

then a hard reset is a must, cos both mp3 & wma also not playable by then.

scarry lar sweat.gif

better try it on weekends cos if need to do hard reset, i still have time to load all the softwares back. icon_rolleyes.gif

I found that after upgrading to 1.13 radio and installed iLauncher version3, my mini now consume less power. Not sure which contributed to the power savings since I done both at the same time. My gf also felt the same thing since she played games on it all the time. Now my mini can tahan 30mins-1hr longer depending on the type of games.

You're welcome.

You should try Photo Contacts Pro. I am using it and its much better than the one which came with my O2 Mini. Lotsa customisable options...... thumbup.gif

I think someone suggested Jln Pasar over in KL city. 2.5mm to 3.5mm converter adapter which should cost around RM1-RM5. There is one which is just a direct convert head and another which had a short wire to that its more flexible. I have no problems with the wired one.

Anyway, I would have offered selling you mine but then the cost of sending it to you from here in Johor might not be feasible if thru POS LAJU. Unless I use 30 cent stamp and hope it arrives at your place. laugh.gif

THats an interesting fact. But then again I never had battery issues with my O2 Mini so didn't require much powersaving. In your case however, games are being played a lot so every ounce of Juice in those batts counts..... smile.gif
