As for my case regarding network issues,( if some people here might remember hehe) , I have taken an extra measure to enjoy this phone to the fullest, I mnp from celcom to maxis! Lel. Blasphemy.

It's because I was frustrated to know that I couldn't get my celcom to jump on LTE coz the plan was initially for tablet. Meaning, I need to change plan. Knowing LTE coverage in my housing area is not really good (tested via my friend Nexus 5 with his celcom LTE), I decided to try maxis for once in my life coz surfmore 75 really caught my interest coz I'm a heavy data user.

I was initially scared to jump to maxis coz I'm a fan of celcom since I was 12. Maxis was known to be expensive and deceptive imo. So before I made the decision, I did my research and found out maxis wouldn't charge people after reaching the data quota but instead will just throttle down the speed which is great. I also found out this was not the case many months ago.

I also notice that I'll get to enjoy the 9.90 for Spotify! (instead of the 14.90). Next, I'm impressed with the LTE coverage so far. I don't really care about top speed coz anything above 10mbps is good enough already for me.

Btw after 2 weeks of use, got my bill and it's weird to see the charges got separated into 2; calls within network and off network. (celcom n digi usually have single rates which is better) Guess what, on net was only around RM 5, off net was about RM 20. Clearly I don't have many friends using maxis. So I plan to add the "more voice" RM 12 for 120 minutes of talk time for calls to any network, more saving.

Conclusion, I'm loving my OPO more than ever now.

RM 5 for 2gb will have expiry date or something?

Do you have any idea when it'll be out of beta?

Haha my bro used to use iPhone 4 as well and he keep nothing in there. He just find it difficult to put stuff in there and he was using SGS 1 as his main phone. The iPhone was just there so he could familiarise with iOS coz his job needs it.

Conclusion, iPhone was so boring till he couldn't care less about filling it up with contents.

So get the 64GB coz the difference isn't that big. I'm using 16GB but I'm cool with it.

not enough info. the error usually quite detail one, for me, it mention that the CMKeyguard.apk is not original anymore. thats how i know which one needs to be repaired. again, thanks to asyrafrahim88 for providing me the original files.

btw the error u gave is not complete. if you look closely, the offending file is written above the error message. the error message is in red color, but above it is just the usual white color.

btw if you are familiar with advanced file manager operation, replacing the offending apk is much easier rather than downloading the modified ota. modified ota is not recommended in the long run.

i know, you are right. but this way, once the phone boots up, there are higher probability that apps will crash. there are reasons why the checks is in place. it must be coz of the dependencies.

for example:

A is needed in order to run B. If A is modified or missing, B will definitely refuse to run, resulting in a crash.

Thats why the system checks is important, it pinpoints you to the offending file. so for example if i modified 2 important file, X and Y, during attempted update, it'll notify me that X is missing/altered.

Once i restore the original X, and attempt updates, it will this time tell me that something is wrong with Y now.

Once i restore Y, and attempt updates, only then it'll resume updates.


Look at this post here, this is the example of people installing modified ota. which reminded me of gurvin too.


im not trying to say like im a smartass or etc, but its just that i prefer to tell people to do it the correct way (which sometimes could be pretty leceh to do especially restoring ori files and correcting permission) instead of providing a shortcut way.

then you need to restore the original thermal-engine file. i am already on 38R so i can't simply email to you my thermal-engine file. if you want to proceed with my method, then i'd ask my friend who is still on 33R, to email me the original thermal-engine file.

if you decided to go with modified ota, then i'd just wish u all the best of luck.
