you are right. but sometimes, the modifications that I wanna make comes in the shape of flashable zips, and the OP doesnt mention which files they'll change.

but now i know how to trace it, simply extract the zip files and see the involved folders in it.

btw its good to know you have a backup in case this happens.

so now since we're back to square one, lets do it the "slowly but surely" way of getting the latest update.

so lets proceed with ironing out the offending file.

P/S: so now lets stop telling people to simply use the modified ota. this kind of temporary solution will almost surely followed by screwups afterwards.

Our post should make it to the first post to warn others about modified ota and the importance of having backup so that there will be no more new fylon or new gurvin in the future.

now lets hope the 38R is worth it.

Lol, I thought you're already on 38R. Since you also use the android L navigation bar, I'll wait and see if when you upgrade to 38R, will you face the same problem as me, coz I just couldn't have the android L navigation bar anymore. Even with the xposed module installed and activated.

Which themes? Me want it too. Hehe


Btw, found a new bug.

Open cm default camera, set video reso to 4k. Set camera settings to ON "save raw image".

Force flash on, then press video camera button to start recording.

Tadaa! Blank screen of death.

Btw jloi forgot to enable root Explorer in the settings of es file Explorer. So now he did that and can modify system files already. His whatsapp is off for a few minutes now. I guess it's a success?

Oh, looking forward for your review on raw image..

Basically, he modified the phone by installing the custom keyguard. Then when he tried to update via unmodified ota, it failed. When he use the modified ota, he succeed, but the phone is unusable coz force close everywhere. So he go back to 33R, fix the custom keyguard with the original one, then apply the unmodified ota.

Then everything is perfect now.
