if update to 38r will it kacau the kernel or not?

so, the update will automatically unroot my opo ya?.. is it the same if i update it manually thru recovery?

yeah, done updating via OTA.. auto flashed to stock kernel and unrooted..

Weird. Download the OTA file and try to flash via TWRP and I got msg below.

btw the error u gave is not complete. if you look closely, the offending file is written above the error message. the error message is in red color, but above it is just the usual white color.

btw if you are familiar with advanced file manager operation, replacing the offending apk is much easier rather than downloading the modified ota. modified ota is not recommended in the long run.

i know, you are right. but this way, once the phone boots up, there are higher probability that apps will crash. there are reasons why the checks is in place. it must be coz of the dependencies.

for example:

A is needed in order to run B. If A is modified or missing, B will definitely refuse to run, resulting in a crash.

Thats why the system checks is important, it pinpoints you to the offending file. so for example if i modified 2 important file, X and Y, during attempted update, it'll notify me that X is missing/altered.

Once i restore the original X, and attempt updates, it will this time tell me that something is wrong with Y now.

Once i restore Y, and attempt updates, only then it'll resume updates.
Look at this post here, this is the example of people installing modified ota.

you are right. but sometimes, the modifications that I wanna make comes in the shape of flashable zips, and the OP doesnt mention which files they'll change.

but now i know how to trace it, simply extract the zip files and see the involved folders in it.

EDITED : bro lowyard i tried to delete d apk in system but it said i do not have permission. Plus i dun c i have access for r w r r..

mine just rooted and modified the keyguard. I did not install xposed.
Anyway i tried flash the unmodified earlier and failed error came out.
then i flash d modified and it works, but with cmkeyguard error msg

- I forgot check in enable root in ES explorer option(actually i know there is such option but couldn't find where it is).
- after check in, replace 33R keyguard apk in system
- then proceed flash to unmodified 38r via TWRP
- error gone
