My opinion is in line with cherroy, BR doesn't know how to tweak this newly assembled team. I don't know if he is able to, but I hope he finds out what is wrong as soon as possible.

He has been looking clueless since the start of season, despite splashing 100mil on players, he doesn't know how to utilize them and the fact that we have seen how players like Allen, Aspas, Illori, Luis Alberto, Nuri Sahin, Moses, Assaidi, Borini all fail to shine under him further reinforce this notion.

It's either they failed to perform as BR apologists like to think so OR ....another line of thought is BR failed to make them perform. My money is on the latter.

Gerrard is in the team for one and one only purpose. Take penalties and set pieces. We all know he is good at penalties and free kicks but suck at corners.

Soto in 2nd? No problem, knowing BR, we can raid Pelle and Tadic for 20mil each! Which I think might as well get Koeman for 5mil a year.

Pelle and Tadic need no 3 yrs to settle in. FACT

On a side note, can't help but to notice BR posed like Christ the Redeemer after the Gerrard's goal.

Rodgers is still in for me. Too premature at this stage to start talks about replacing him. His 3 yrs is not up yet so we will see how he fare this season.

This doesn't mean he has won my vote of confidence to turn things around. Lots of fans were sold by his tiki taka manifesto which evaporated quickly without a word. His signings over the years reflects the vision he has..only that he was completely clueless on how to use them after he signed them..the dud list is piling up...but It's unfair to boot him without giving him time ( in which he is already in his 3rd year now) to solve the conundrum which the team is facing now. He has all the quality players at his disposal, strong support from FSG, enough depth n a nicely laid green pitch without potholes n mushrooms.

BR is facing the real test this season n his survival will largely depends on our CL performance n league standings come May 2015.

Balotelli is a BIG name indeed, often times he is famous for the wrong reasons. Of course, being a starting 11 in the Italian national side, he does qualify as a big name although the transfer fee does not justify his reputation, but can't help but to think that there are other factors in play. Is AC Milan in serious debt? Is AC Milan in a hurry to offload this problematic high profile striker? Balo is a genuine talent no doubt it, but he needs a team that can complement his style of play to maximise his efficiency. IF you are expecting him to drop deep and collect the ball and terrorize the flanks like Suarez or Sturridge, you will be disappointed for sure. His style is somewhat like Torres if I may.

Back to the point of transfers, ask yourself, who are the players that has really emerges from the shadows under BR's tutelage? Only Sterling, and Sturridge perhaps. I like to put Coutinho in, but he is blowing hot and cold at the moment. White Cafu? He had a good season, but still it's premature to call him a world class player. The rest are either mediocre (Xavi, Luis Alberto, Ilori, Aspas, Assaidi, Borini), not given a chance (Suso) or not living up to their reputations.(Mignolet, Sakho). On a side note, Martin Kelly is growing leaps and bound in Crystal Palace. Talk about what a breath of fresh air!

And everytime I read about Dusan Tadic, I feel like crying. This guy only cost 10mil to Soto and we splashed 20mil for Markovic. Both also Serbs. One is settling in nicely and the other is still looking disjointed. Scouts, try and answer this.

Some say the monstrosity of Suarez must be credited to BR. I totally object to this. He is already beasting in the Dutch League and WC before he joined us. As a matter of fact, I believe that a monster player like Suarez indirectly galvanized the entire team last season more than the manager himself. Think about the first 5 games we played without him on the side and think about the games he played in, and you see how different it is. That notion is not wrong.

Like I said, this season will be a litmus test for BR's credentials. He has been thrown all the support and time he needs in Liverpool and now it is the time to DELIVER the promises. And one more thing, giving good post and pre match interviews doesn't mean one is a great manager. It just shows one is good in English and nothing more than that. Mourinho says the darnest things, but as a manager, he is truly unbelievable.

If I'm the owner and you are the manager, I'll fire you on the spot for giving me such a poor sorry excuse on hiring a departmental driftwood.

You can't just come up to me and say "Oops I'm sorry I dunno he's crap?" After wasting 10-20mil (using My marney) on transfers? We hired managers to make judgement calls like this and train them up to become an integral part of the team, and not just walk away if things do not work out. Managers should have at least have 50-70% accuracy on their abilities before sealing the deal. One can gamble with small fries & chicken feeds, and fine enough, you can have the leeway of getting one-two occasional duds if you do get most of your signings right.

BUT IF your dud list is way longer than your success stories stretching over 3 seasons, you'll surely be subjected to scrutiny. Means you have serious issues judging a player, either that or you have been fed with Scout Nation's Greatest Compilation videos on Youtube.

No need for sarcasm la. You don't need coaching experience to comment in here. We are here to talk n discuss n pinpoint what went wrong in BR's campaign and realistically what needs to be done to move forward.

Thing is, one don't need to be a LFC fan to know how things are managed in a football club. Every football club I know in the world is results driven, from Yeovil Town FC to Segambut Utara FC if you may. I do not know you well, or what do you do in your daily life, but the world I know is a results oriented place and all things do not automatically become rainbows in 5 years time. Progress are monitored time to time and when problems arises, root cause have to be pinpointed ASAP to cure the problem. Safe to say, we all know what will happen to BR if he does not meet his targets set by the club to him.

What we babbled here will not affect Rodger's position or LFC in whatsoever way, unless this is Spirit of Shankly maybe. This is just another forum for like minded people to discuss and debate, and you are always welcumed to share your thoughts to other fans here if you think BR has been unfairly attacked by ppl around here, or if BR has done a good job so far with the club.

I dunno where you get the impression I'm calling for BR to be sacked. If you do read my previous postings, you will know where I stand now.

It's not that my opinion matters anyway. Criticising doesn't mean I want him out. Again my challenge is open, if you can find one word of me saying BR out I'll buy you a steak dinner..n if not you have to swallow your computer mouse lol. ( I think moodswingfella still owe me a mouse.)

I hope Rodgers doesn't tell the lads they are happy with a DRAW in Basel.

This is definitely a must win game for Liverpool, irregardless of what form we are in. If you go in playing for a draw, there won't be any hunger to take 3 points from this. A win will also lessen the pressure on us when taking on RM.

Rodgers must inject the proper mentality into our boys against Basel!!! Basel is solid team but they are still beatable IF Rodgers gets his tactics right. It's not OK to draw, imho
