QUOTE(sakaito @ Sep 22 2014, 09:38 AM)
if the news about khedira is true, then it's a good thing. but isn't he out with surgery now?

anyway, let's move forward and focus on the next game mid week.

then bring on NLD!!!
*
That's the thing, bro.
We totally dodge a bullet with this one.
Had we give in to his salary demands, we would've to foot the bills of his surgery and weekly salary and still without a DM.

I didn't watch as well, can't be arsed with the cc. The only downside less playing time for the likes of Campbell, Bellerin etc
*
Well I for one believe its not just about winning a trophy, but more of missing a great chance for our second team to shine and have lots of play time.
Great thing about Arsenal is that apart from the quality and entertainment value of our first team, we also love to see our youth and team B as well as the Arsenal ladies getting a fair share of spotlight. We're really gunning for glory in every aspect of the game, be it U18, U21 or perhaps veterans (if got). Anything, as long as its Arsenal I will support.

Hopefully, there's more to see in FA Cup.

QUOTE(aladdin @ Sep 25 2014, 11:23 AM)
Rooney and Mata has became the latest scapegoat for the recent defeat against Leicester.

WTF LVG was expecting MATA provide good performance, by giving him 15min to play? lol

also, he is blasting Rooney for not contribute enough (score more goals) for the team.

The defeat was simply because their defence was $hit. Nothing to do with scoring or not. In fact, they had scored 3 goals. I think LVG plays too much FIFA.

afterall, typical man, you spirit.
*
I didn't actually watch the full match of them vs Leicester. Just took a quick peek at first half and saw them leading 2-1 and just closed the channel. Didn't expect an amazing comeback from Leicester.
But Mata shouldn't be the one to blame. He always work as provider to the strikers up front and he can easily play in any team because of his vision and quality. Perhaps his defence rate isn't up to their fans' standard? Hmm, sounds familiar.

As for Rooney, well he definitely past his peak, but still a deadly forward nonetheless. Its just that I often see him more of a false 10. Less responsibility on scoring, but more on linking plays and collecting balls deep inside their own half. Anyone is free to correct me about this, but I think there's no quick formula to Man you's crisis. New manager, new staff, new players.....you only need time to improve. But that is the one thing they can't afford to give.

“I hope to be quicker, definitely,” Walcott said, speaking at Sportwaves, a charity exhibition and auction for the national charity, Willow. “You’ve got to look at these injuries as a bit of a blessing at times. I was able to be there for the birth of my son, Finley [in April] and, also, I’ve never had the opportunity to work on the strength in my legs. With that, I think I should be quicker and stronger.”

Skipped leg day and still THAT quick? shocking.gif

Slow day....is everyone still asleep?
Lets get this thread moving before the cave people comes out tonight. laugh.gif

Read this touching article about the introverts of football, namely Ozil.

QUOTE
Ozil, Ronaldo and football's distrust of introverts
It’s just before half-time in the second leg of Arsenal’s Champions League qualifier against Besiktas. With the aggregate score line at 0-0, tension is high at the Emirates. Suddenly, a tantalising flick from Mesut Ozil cracks open the visitors’ stubborn defence, allowing Jack Wilshere to tee up Alexis Sanchez, who tucks home the winner.

With that Ozil-orchestrated goal, the Gunners secured qualification to the Champions League and the £40 million payday that comes with it.

Yet, as they queued at the Tube afterwards, the satisfaction of many Arsenal fans was tempered by one thing: a consensus that Ozil contributed “absolutely nothing” to the victory.

His crucial contribution to a game of football had been overlooked – as it often has since he arrived on these shores last year. The German playmaker attracts a variety of opinions from pundits in studio and armchair, but they generally agree on one thing: he had a disastrous 2013/14.

Yet Ozil’s ‘disastrous’ season was the sort many players can only dream of. He had a talismanic impact at Arsenal, his very arrival lifting a bewildered club to the top of the league for four months. He won the FA Cup and World Cup, was statistically Germany’s key player in Brazil, and remained a guaranteed name on the team-sheets of two of the game’s most discerning coaches: Joachim Low and Arsene Wenger.

On the lighter side of news from the other side of town...

Spurs takeover off after bidders watch them play
QUOTE
INVESTORS have withdrawn a bid for Tottenham Hotspur after seeing them in action.
Cain Hoy executives attended Wednesday’s Capital One game against Nottingham Forest to give them a taste of the team in action but during a goalless first half several of them slipped into mild comas.

Consortium head Nikki Hollis said: “We’d had a chat with Malcolm Glazer about how investing in English football was a great way of making a fortune without doing any work.

“He also recommended it as a way of annoying millions of arseholes which, while not financially lucrative, is always fun.

“But Erik Lamela? Chas and Dave?

“No.”

Hollis said: “Oh, and the pies? Seriously, what the f***?”

Spurs had hoped the investment would allow them to purchase their first striker since Jurgen Klinnsman and employ a songwriter to create a chant that does not involve Arsenal.

Cain Hoy were due to make a cash offer for the team in the region of eight figures, if you include the two numbers after the decimal point.

An earlier ‘one billion’ valuation of the club was dismissed, unless the currency in question was the Mark during the hyperinflation-hit Weimar Republic of the 1920s.[
